This is aimed more at FtMs that don't have packers.  What do you wear? I want to wear trunks but I think it would look strange without a packer.  I want to be able to wear my pants a bit lower but I don't want anyone to see what I'm wearing underneath because I'm still stuck in female underwear. Do you just wear guys underwear without a packer?

I'm just concerned about when it's that vile time of the month that the underwear wouldn't be close enough to the body in order to hold a pad in place leading to a horrible mess...It would be pretty much impossible with boxers but maybe trunks would be alright? They're tighter fitting but I'd be worried about the front part because it has extra room.

I use tampons so no need to hold a pad.  I wear boxers most of the time, have a couple of pair of briefs. Do not use a packer.

Underwear was the very first clothing I swapped out when getting a new wardrobe. I use boxer briefs, and for me if works just fine with the pads. Some guys swap back to girl panties or briefs for that week though(or panties + boxers on top). Do some experimenting.

i wear boxer briefs most of the time, sometimes regular boxers. that time of the month (and a day or two before it's expected just to make sure) i wear girl underwear, with boxers over them sometimes, so that i don't ruin them.
oh and imo i don't think they look weird without a packer. they make me feel much more comfortable than girl undies, esp if my pants are sagging and showing them. i always was careful to make sure my girl undies didnt show which was a hassle. now i have no worries.

For awhile I wore mostly briefs and trunk briefs and swapped out with female underwear, but now I have pretty much no female underwear at all and I usually prefer boxers.  I don't usually wear a packer and to tell you the truth I think boxers are a lot more comfortable without a packer than with.  I haven't had "that time of the month" since like October, but when I did have it I would switch back to female underwear for the week.  I hated it, but it was the easiest thing to do and if the underwear got ruined (which we all know it sometimes does) I didn't care.

I always wear boxers. I threw out all my female underwear years ago.
During the red death I wore tampons, and at night I lined a pair of boxer briefs with pads and made something resembling a diaper....yeah, it actually makes me feel better than having to wear girl panties.

Well, I refuse to wear tampons, so I wear girl underwear under boxers when I'm on my period so that I can wear pads.

I only have three pairs of boxers though, and I want to start packing (because I feel naked if I don't), so I'm going to buy some briefs sometime this weekend or something.

I still have my female underwear, even though I've been in guy clothes for over a year now. Mine are all black 'boy fit' though, so they're exactly like guy's underwear, just minus the extra room at the front. I'll change to guy's underwear when I start packing on a regular basis, but for now I'm fine with what I have.

I don't get the red death anymore, so that's not an issue for me.

Boxer briefs hold a pad better than women's underwear because the crotch area is wider. It also conforms better and just feels like you're more protected.

Thanks for your replies!! Next time I go to the store maybe I'll pick up some guys underwear.  It looks so much more comfortable than the girls crap. I hate feeling my butt being only partially covered...

I'll probably end up with trunks or boxer briefs. In high school I wore boxers sometimes and I wasn't a fan of the breeze when I wore shorts, haha.

The breeze is the best part!!

Before I started T I found that boxer briefs work fine holding a pad.  But usually I would wear girl underwear under my boxer briefs.  Now I'm starting to switch over to boxers just cause I like all the room.  I don't pack.  No one is going to notice your bulge/lack of bulge.  You don't have to pack just because you are wearing men's underwear. 

Yup, what Andy said. Briefs should work okay for pad holding. Personally I wear boxer briefs but sometimes boxers when I have loose pants otherwise I have to waste time tucking the boxers into the pants when they are tight, anyone else have to do that? Like the bottoms of the boxers roll up.

I wear boxers and boxer briefs, they fit just fine without packing. I wear tampons that time of the month, so the underwear isn't an issue. Plus guy underwear is so much more fun.

I have found that guy's underwear seems to be made better than women's and lasts longer.
For the monthly red death, I used to have a few pair of  men's tighty-whities and they did the job.
I'm a big fan of going commando but will occasionally wear boxer briefs.

I hate all of my girl underwear, every single one of them is stained from red death, and I only keep them around for that time of the month. I might start taking other people's suggestions here in using boxer briefs for that time of the month, but I'm so afraid of staining my precious boxer briefs!!! (Most of my boxers/boxer briefs are dark in color, but the idea of accidentally getting red death on them kind of squicks me). Any other time, I'll wear boxers or boxer briefs, whichever I'm in the mood for.

Andrew: I get boxers rolling up on me too, and it gets annoying sometimes, hence why I'll sometimes use boxer briefs instead of boxers. But I love the feel of boxers, so much more room!!

But for that horrid time either wear female underwear or briefs to keep everything in place underneath boxers. For me it's about peace of mind as much as what people might see. I've always hated the feel of female underwear and the tightness around the nether regions. Wearing boxers instead of boxer briefs around that time kind of help to distract me from that "tight around the nether regions" effect of the female underwear (despite that throughout the rest of the month I love the roomyness of boxer briefs, for some reason with female underwear under neath makes it uncomfortable)

Thanks for all your suggestions.  I'm probably gonna pick up some new underwear when I head up to the store today.  I have some boxers and I tried wearing them today but I had major problems with them rolling up on me so I changed back to my boy shorts. ~_~

I like trunks the best - they work well with tighter pants even with the extra space at the front.  Also, you should try to go to a discount store like tj maxx, marshalls, etc.. you can get Calvin Kleins for like $12.00 vs. $20+ in a dept. store.. and I just got some from urban outfitters for 2 for $20

I wear boxers exclusively. I just like the feel of 'em. For that time of the month, rare as it is lately, I wear boyshorts underneath my boxers with a pad in them.

I only own men's underwear and I don't like wearing my good pairs during the red evilness.  During that time I wear Hanes high rise type briefs.  Those with winged pads work better then any women's ever did because I refuse to use tampons too.   Also eliminates the need to wear two pairs of underwear.
