Ok so i decided to look around for a place to get lazer done. So my first call did not go so well. She was saying 150 for neck 75 for cheeks 50 for upper lip each session. That just seems so expensive. I'ts a little depressing so now i feel like i wont beable to afford getting it done. Don't want to be the bearded lady ><.

It costs money to transition and get the services we need.  It's unfortunately par for the course.

I try not to think how much I have spent so far, but I know I must do this, no matter what the cost.

I hope I can continue with my laser treatments, even though they are a priority, my main priority is my house and family.

Ok ya i know, but i did find a good place, they were really nice and they said they would work with me on payment plans and such. The girl on the phone didnt want to give a price yet because she said it just depends one what i really need and all. I also feel a little better because i just got back from the mac store 0.0. bought lady gagas nude lip stick. Foundation for full cover 3 eye shadows, Blush. dont wanna know how much i spent my bf shouldnt of left me alone in a makeup store lol.

FWIW, I have seen a small handful of bulk purchases in those daily emails that come out from Groupon and myDailyDeals...last one I saw was something like six sessions for a purchase price of $175 at a place in southwest Houston.  I have to presume other cities have similar sorts of deals...

pretty sure similar deals will exist up there as in Houston...lots of Tech students that they can service and the places know they need to wheel and deal or the kids spending mommy and daddy's money will go back to from whence they came to get the work done.  And of course, if push comes to shove, you could always even look at Amarillo (probably a better bet going north than heading south to Big Spring or Midland just based on what I remember of my year in West Texas). 

And, even without advertised deals, it never hurts to ask about discounts for blocks of time (years ago, my electrologist cut me a tremendous deal because I bought in 10-12 hour blocks that we worked against)...worst that happens is that they say no.  Just make sure the place you choose if you can get a block is some place that does not look to be closing shop in a short period of time.

im doing 110 per session. Oh so good news i went to victoria secret and got measured, I am 36A =P, girl was very nice she was very interested in the whole process. But 45 dollars right now for a bra really sucks, i can just go to walmart and get a cheap one =).

Wow... the more I hear about other places, the happier I am that I live in Denver.    There are so many treatment centers that competition drives prices down pretty well.  Where I go for laser, I paid $600 for a block of the first six sessions, and, since I bought a block, they only charge $50 per session for anything past that.  You can also find outstanding electrologists for $45 to $50 per hour.

I was just quoted $3000 for full beard, chest, and abs- 24 sessions, plus guaranteed cleanup.

I was given the option of making three $1000 dollar payments in 8 week intervals. I can't won't do credit.
I'm a skin type 1 with dark brown hair, so it will be worth it. Looks like I have to do dome fund raising, since that price is only good through the end of the month.

I've just past my 7 month mark (Hello month 8!!!) and I still shave! =/ Just shave and save until you have the money! You'll get there! DO NOT lose hope!

Have you girls considered electrolysis? Laser isn't proven to be permanent and isn't FDA approved as permanent hair removal so electrolysis seems like the natural choice to me. Why the laser route? Just wondering- maybe there's something I don't know. I'm not trying to dissuade anyone.

Cost. Laser can thin the hair down to manageable levels for a fraction of the price of electrolysis. After a few more treatments of laser, I plan to get electrolysis to knock out the remaining stubborn hairs.

While laser isn't quite permanent, the hair still never grows back nearly as thick or strong as it did initially. Also being on HRT helps keep the hair from coming back.

Electrolysis = $ 63 / hr x 112 hrs = $7056 dollars, and a two year long process.

laser (esp. if you're on HRT) is much faster, less than half the cost, and guaranteed to work nowadays. If you don't see permanent reduction they typically re-zap you for free... every tech I've spoken to has told me that laser now kills the follicles just as electrolysis does.

edit: the trans woman who runs my clinic waited until she was 6 months into HRT, she told me she had hers done 4 years ago and only went through 5 sessions- she's smooth as a baby.

Oh, I hadn't looked into the cost yet. I thought it'd be about the same. I'm going to look into it for myself though since I have a thin mustache line and like literally only 10-15 hairs on the bottom of my chin.
