On Monday, April 25 a rally was held in the parking lot of the Rosedale Maryland McDonald's restaurant where local trans-woman Chrissy Lee Polis had been brutally assaulted on April 18.  A 14 year-old juvenile and 18 year-old Teonna Monae Brown have been charged in the attack that activists want investigated as a hate crime.

The rally was moderated by Caroline Temmermand. Reverend Meredith Moise made an interfaith invocation. She was followed by Sandy Rawls of Trans-United who said, among other things,  "I am sick and tired of doing candlelight vigils; looking mothers and fathers in their faces and seeing them cry tears of hurt because they've lost their loved ones - because of hate. Hate is easy to do. Love takes a strong person, and if you're a true child of God let the love shine through. And if you hate, get on the other side of truth and humanity."
"Be yourself; everyone else is already taken." Oscar Wilde
