You will look good regardless of what you do with your hair. (this presupposes a decent barber does the job.)

i agree, you'll be just fine as long as you stay away from the bleach and eyeliner. that said you're still in the androgynous-possibly-leaning-towards-male category with the eyeliner on and the blonde hair, so i guess you'll actually be fine regardless....am i making sense?

I don't think your hair will hinder you at all. Go for it, by all means.

Made sense to me. I concur; i think it may also look pretty amazing a bit messy.

Be careful, they don't like "faddish" or trendy styles...I got in trouble in the Navy for one of my short cuts, eventually just decided to let it grow long so people would leave me the hell alone. I'm amazed you get away with the male-style cut, honestly, they would've crucified us for that.

Yeah I'm in the Army. Yeah since I got here.. I got to basic and they shaved my head for me they didn't give me a choice cause I had dye in my hair.. and then they were like keep your standard so they like me with it.. they say I'm the cleanest looking "female" in the battery but I get a lot of ->-bleeped-<- for it too. A lot of the guys ->-bleeped-<- with me in bad ways and stuff and they bitch about how I need to grow my hair out.. but I just deal with it really. I have the attitude that I'm not going to really conform and I think they get the hint. A lot of people know I'm a T tho and totally back me up here so its good. Yeah how was the Navy with it? I was going to be Navy but went Army instead

Kind of sucks to be trans in the Navy. Lots of gender segregation (aboard ship, in the barracks, everywhere). And they're super super finicky about gender-conforming personal appearance, to the point that virtually every female Sailor has an identical bun.

On the plus side, there's a regulation I was able to abuse in order to wear men's working uniforms.

Holy crap that's insane. Yeah my ex is in there and they all look alike it freaked me out. I'm glad in the army you have a choice kinda.. we are a lot grungier so anything that's okay with hygiene they let us do it. that's why I can have such short hair cause like i go down range and don't take showers for a month or more, but army and navy have 2 different lives. I just wish it was ok. If your serving your country I don't think it should matter what your personal whatever is I don't think gender should even matter cause your all there for the same damn thing.

While I personally thing you'd probably look better with the short hair, I couldn't see long hair hindering your passing at all.

thanks guys. yeah I just wanna look like I'm not in the army pretty much so I wanna have my own thing going with some shaggy hair maybe lets see if it works out haha
