Class offers exercise in lies, stereotyping

One of the more interesting lies came from a woman who said she had "married her wife" three years ago. I had seen on her attendance sheet that she was interested in transgender issues, so I abstained from guessing. We could say this woman looked "liberal" enough to have married another woman, or maybe it was her second statement that she was interested in fashion and marketing that made us think she was open-minded. It turned out she made up the wife story.
