This made my day

I just wanted to share a story, because it really made my day.

Today was the last day of dress for PE, and we were playing a match of Capture the Flag. We had played last class, so our PE teacher told us to go on the same teams as last time. I was on the no-penny team (pennies are those weird shirt things you wear to identify the teams), so I went over there. Then she for some reason changed her mind, and called me specifically and a few other people to come and be on the penny team, and called others from the penny team to be on the non-penny team. At first I was a little annoyed, because I hate wearing the pennies, but when I got over to the other side, I realized something; there were no girls wearing pennies. I looked over to the other team and saw that there were no boys on the other team. It was then that it dawned on me that she had specifically placed me on the boys' team, and I was really happy about it!  ;D

Now, my PE teacher knows about my trans status, as I got really mad at her for forcing me to be on the girl's team for rowing one day, and she sent her TA (who is my friend) to ask me what was wrong, so I explained to her, and she told the teacher. The teacher apologized to me, and said that she would make sure it didn't happen again. She kept her word; every time boys vs. girls was suggested after that, she said no, and suggested something else. But today, she decided to do a boys vs. girls match, and she put me on the boys' team! I couldn't stop smiling the whole time, even when the other guys were saying that there was "a girl on the team" and asked me why I wasn't over there on the other team. I just told them, "Screw it! I'm here and I'm playing on your team, so get used to it."  :P

Anyway, that really made my day, because she actually remembered and put me on the boys' team without me having to ask.  :)

That's really awesome. In one of my music classes we sight read rhythms often, and in the beginning the teacher started splitting us up boys vs. girls. She knew I was trans and after the first time she specifically asked me what she should do in that situation. I asked if we could keep the teams gender neutral and she was great about it since then.

I do look forward to the day my voice is clearly male so that when we do the sight-singing, I get put on the guy's part.
