Susan

I have gone ahead and created the individual peer support areas. These private forums are open to anyone who is a member of the required peer group and has at least 15 posts. You will see them as child boards under the private Just for us forum. If you are not currently in a peer group reply to this message asking to be joined to one or more of the groups listed below which apply to you and a staff member will add you. (You must have had SRS to join the Post op group for example).

  Androgyne
Peer support for Androgynes. This forum is only viewable by members who are in the Androgyne peer group.

  Crossdressers
Peer support for Crossdressers. This forum is only viewable by members who are in the Crossdresser peer group.

  FTM Transsexuals
Peer support for FTM Transsexuals. This forum is only viewable by members who are in the FTM Transsexual peer group.

  Intersexuals
Peer support for Intersexuals. This forum is only viewable by members who are in the Intersexual peer group.

  MTF Transsexuals
Peer support for MTF Transsexuals. This forum is only viewable by members who are in the MTF Transsexual peer group.

  Non-TG
Peer support for Non-TG's. This forum is only viewable by members who are in the Non-TG peer group.

  Post-ops
Peer support for Post-Op Transsexuals (MTF & FTM). FTM Transsexuals are considered post-op if they have had either top or bottom surgery, they are not required to have both. This forum is only viewable by members who are in the Post-op peer group.

  Significant others
Peer support for Significant others. This forum is only viewable by members who are in the Significant other peer group.

  Transsexuals
A peer support area for both FTM and MTF Transsexuals. This board is viewable only by those in the FTM Transsexual and MTF Transsexual peer groups.

I have posted in each peer group forum a message which roughly reads as follows.....

QuoteWelcome to your peer support area. This private forum is only viewable by members of your peer group, global moderators, and administrators of Susan's Place Transgender Resources. Private forums come at a cost! The more material we make private, the less that is available to the public to help non-members, and to attract and entice new members into joining our community here at Susan's Place. So please limit postings in this area to sensitive or confidential information. The rest post in the public forums as usual. The site staff will move any messages which they consider to be non-sensitive or confidential to the public areas of the forums. Thank you for your cooperation and continued support!

We are serious about the limitation to sensitive or confidential posts only. If there is any doubt we will try to err on the side of caution but mistakes might happen from time to time. If and when they do use the report this post option and explain that it needs to be private and why and a staff member will move it.

This is a good idea! Can you add me to the FTM and TS groups (can you join two)?

You can but FTM Transsexuals automatically have access to the Transsexuals peer support forum.

WTG to the Androgyne for being the first peer group to actively make use of their peer support forum!

As best as I can tell, I am "non-TG" on the basis of not falling in any of the other categories, although it doesn't feel perfectly accurate. [I believe in gender but do not believe in the gender roles, and I wish to neither seek nor avoid attention for it: This means expressing myself as I see fit while still identifying as male.]  Please hook me up!

Under the just for us forum is a private forum for each peer group. Just post in there like you normally would and it's only visible to moderators and others in your peer group...
