Hello,
My name is Julya, I am a recently semi-out trans-woman. Many of you may have already read my wife's introduction... She is Sowisa on here. Where to begin... At the beginning I presume. So, I have had a proclivity for things feminine since I was three or four. I was raised in a rural mindset (though a lot of it was in the city), and was heavily discouraged in my feminine presentation. It took me twenty-seven years, and the support of my beautiful wife to finally express myself as my whole self. Just in case your math is off, that puts me at thirty. I am currently in therapy, and my therapist said that she would have no issues approving me for hormones after one session, we'll just have to get the necessary info to put on the forms. So in reality the when is up to me. However, I would like to start some hair removal before I start HRT, so it will probably be in a couple of months or so... I have used otc/online hormones in the past, and know their effect on me (at least for the duration of 9-10 months...) I have already purchased the necessary packages for full face laser hair removal (with a Lightsheer Duet Doctor operated machine), I just need to set the appointment (I bought them as, "groupon" type deals, and saved 75%). The budget for this is very tight and we will be gluttons for how to effectively transition for as little as possible w/o compromising quality. All of our closest family, and friends know, save those longer than a day-trip drive away... I am out to my Director of Human Resources and General Manager at work; my GM as it turns out has helped someone else transition when at a property in Atlantic City (we are in Denver, by the way...). Throughout life my wife and I have had many GLBT friends and family, but currently find ourselves without many"T's", or SO's of T's with which to congregate. I would go to our local center, but I work very long hours, and have very little time to get life's necessities attended to; let alone time to go bonding with new people (nice as it would be at times...). So, here I am... And, I'll be reading many other posts and commenting/posting when I can.
