I thought this would be a fun question on the holiday.

You've just begun HRT. Things are taking effect.

How long before you noticed the slightest change in your chest?

How long before you noticed the extra bounce in your step?

How long before you could say, "yes, those are breasts?"

How long before you needed to wear a bra for comfort and protection?

How long before growth ceased?
We must move forward... not backwards, not to the side, not forwards, but always whirling, whirling, whirling towards freedom.

My mindless babbling are my own opinions and nothing more.

Hmm fair enough.

How long was it since I noticed the first changes. 48 hours after taking my injection and pills I was feeling pretty strange. just an ever so slight tingling in my chest as I went about my daily activities they were alot more sensitive. checking them in the mirror they looked like somone had pinched and twisted my nipples hard red hard and swollen.

When they became boobs. Subsiquently they became tingly itchy and then sore and then stabbing pains as they grew a hard lump appeared behind my nipples first the size of a peanut but over the weeks this grew gradually larger.
3.5weeks afterwards I got a "cramp" like sensation in my pectorals not my nipples I squeeze it like I would a cramping muscle and I was overwhelemed with alot of sensations mostly painful. ignoring it I went to bed.
Next morning went into the shower and the places I live are caves, The showerhead exploded when I turned it on, I had to collect the bits and reassemble the showerhead as I did so I looked down and they were there on my chest.

After 2-3 months or so I noticed that I had to be careful when jumping down flights of stairs like I used to as that made them bounce uncomftorbally. also they would jiggle if I ran or jumped up and down. so if I did somthing really active I needed a bra but I could go without otherwise.

My growth largely stopped or slowed down their-after still my nipples continued to grow and change becoming large prominant and puffy. after 6 months I went home and saw a friend and said how much I missed them he made a snide remark. "Yes... I can see" looking at my chest... a gust of wind had made them poke out... very embarrassing since then I've had to wear a bra I somtimes go without but my nipples poke through.

I'm still growing abeit rather slowly, my sharp spike in growth was over that 3-4months although my left seems to be growing quicker than my right my left pushing a small B the other only begin a smaller A they itch now rather than hurt when they do grow.

Hi. I think it took about 48 hours for me to actually see that they were puffier. ALTHOUGH, im not really stating this as a fact, just something i think. i didn't really care to much to put much thought in my body before hormones. Here at 3 1/2 weeks, behind my nipples are sore! Not really good with explaining things, but yeah! lol!

Bear in mind that I started on very low dose and is still on relatively low doses (according to recent blood test result).

The areola and the nipples (both in term of diameter & projection) started to get bigger within one week.

QuoteHow long before you could say, "yes, those are breasts?"
Sometime between 5 weeks and 9 weeks.

QuoteHow long before you needed to wear a bra for comfort and protection?
No idea. Was wearing a bra regardless long before I actually had breast. If I had to guess certain time after 2 or 3 months when they are growing. I guess I'm still too small to get away not wearing one if I don't want to when it's not going through its phase.

QuoteHow long before growth ceased?
Hopefully not for a long long while. :D

Mmm, "chesticles" or some other circumlocution is what the guys on the other side of the aisle have,
that is, until they have their top surgeries and get it all fixed.

We, as women, have nice breasts, regardless of their size.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that dislikes the term  ::)  Now chestsicles on the other hand?  Maybe.  It does feel nice when they're licked.   ;)

I noticed slight increase in nipple and areola size after about a week.
Four weeks in and there seems to be a change in the tissue behind my nipples, and they are quite sensitive.  Occaisional sharp stinging sensation as well.
"Don't ask me, it was on fire when I lay down on it"

Just bear in mind that many genetic girls have puberty stretching out five years or so.

Renate is right, to get the full grow you have to think in years.
But you can see changes in a shorter time.
For me, when I could say....hey now we are getting somewhere it was about 2 or 3 months.

HRT sounds relatively fast-acting, based on these posts...within 48 hours first changes noticed? And within 2-3 months one has bouncy-bouncy (even if small)?

Wow. I can't wait!
Those were changes in the chest department I noticed changes in my sense of smell and general unusual feelings prior to that. (Cotton head) (Cold) (Tired) (Sense of smell changes) (Change in sense of taste)

If you've seen the movie "the fly" it's somwhat similar in that you feel somthing really strange happening to your body before you can the changes manifesting.

I'm IS an had breasts since puberty my left breast is a B-cup an the right is a tad smaller than the left one, I been on Spiro for 39 days an 12 days on the Progynon Depot injections my areolas are getting larger an puffy an when my nipples are erect they stick out a 1/2 inch an are getting larger in diameter an they are getting sore that is about the only changes I have noticed right now.
Started HRT with Spirotone on 05/18/13 an Estradiol Valerate Injections on 06/14/13

Hi Ashley. Be mindful of early reports... I think that swelling and sensitivity of the nipples is the first thing to happen. It's nice, but not breast development in the strict sense.

The "buds" ( lumps directly under the nipples ) are the first signs. For me they started at about week 6, starting at the size of peas. By week 9 they were walnuts. At this point I cannot go bra-less. The nipples are almost always erect, and too sensitive to rub on any fabric. Also my boobs hurt like hell with any amount of pressure, so protection is good.

The breast shape itself ( fatty tissue ) didn't start until about week 10, and I exploded quickly over about two weeks into an A - cup. I'm at week 14, they've just started hurting again, suggesting another growth spurt is coming.

While a blessing, can be hard to manage before going full time if you're a fast developer. I've very little body fat and a ribcage designed to push them out, so they're prominent features on me at even A cups. I'm glad it's winter where I am, because I can't unzip my baggy hoodie any more without them being on display. And tight fitting clothing is not recommended... :)

At 3 years and 51 weeks, I am still getting some breast improvement every so often.  Other times, the twins just go weird with erotic sensations for a day or two.

Two months ago I had a mammogram done on them, and one had some irregular tissue in it which got a needle biopsy treatment, and happily came back as benign fibrous tissue.  Be aware that you can get unexpected developments that natal women also have.  (Evil smirk!!)
I refuse to have a war of wits with a half armed opponent!!

Wiser now about Post Op reality!!

How long before you noticed the slightest change in your chest?

About 2 weeks and I noticed the puffiness began.

How long before you noticed the extra bounce in your step?

Month 3 or 4.

How long before you could say, "yes, those are breasts?"

About month 6

How long before you needed to wear a bra for comfort and protection?

About month 6

How long before growth ceased?

Haven't gotten there yet :)

Hmm...
1. Negative eight years. I had heavy gynecomastia for most of my adolescence, disguised as moobs by fatness.

2. This happened about four months in - prior to hormones, there wasn't much sensation in the girls per se.

3. Several months prior - when I lost enough weight to make their true nature obvious.

4. At this point (since 4.5 months) I always wear a bra. It's not necessary for either comfort or protection, but it certainly helps.

5. They're still growing - I hope. Maybe they'll pick up again once I'm on more than minimal E doses?
Don't lose who you are along the path to who you want to be.

I started feeling nipple sensation at about 3 week in.

How long before you noticed the extra bounce in your step?
At 6 weeks I had a lady comment about my breasts though I thought they still seemed mike the moobs they were before so others saw my growth before I did.

How long before you could say, "yes, those are breasts?"
At 2 months I had Breasts!

How long before you needed to wear a bra for comfort and protection?
At 3 months there was no hiding the girls any more I had to put on a bra.

How long before growth ceased?
Thankfully they haven't stopped, yet but its only been 5 months.
