I found a guy who was interested in me (I have a new guy once a week I know lol.... but I lose interest in them quickly) but this one is unique... he lives in the Netherlands. I was thinking to myself, oh the people are tall there...  and I was right... average height for women is like 5'8-5'9 and average height is 6'2 for men.

That's really cool, so I would be slightly shorter than the average woman in the Netherlands.

All transsexual women should move there, really, we would all be passable!

Now, that doesn't mean I am moving right now... I have to talk to this guy some more... he's giving me medical insurance, vacations, and college I guess.... (he's not a rich guy' it's just different there). I think I am just going to go for the culture change.

I think there is more to it then just being the right height.

Being passable is hardly about height, or else we'd all be passable ^^; There's women with 'manly height' that look entirely feminine, and MtFs who can't pass with the average woman's height.  It's the overall appearance...but hey, cultural change is a pretty valid reason, so I really hope it works out for you. ^^ I'm going to stay in America unless if I find a good motivation to move out of it, personally.

I am of Dutch ancestry, I have live in the Netherlands, and at one point I had a girlfriend from Rotterdam. In general Dutch people are friendly and generous, but that should not be confused with gullibility. Overall they are much more profound than most people in the USA. In general, not a good place for swallow people. On the other hand, every country has a garbage dump where dangerous people congregate to exploit each other, etc

I think you are better of if you go to college in order to become a plastic surgeon, not only to make money, but also to help you fellow humans beings. Life is not about yourself only.

Love,

Well I'm moving interstate to study, so in a way I can understand the idea of moving and starting afresh.  Annette will be able to tell you more about the situation for trans-people in the Netherlands.

I'm 19, and could transition and pass quite easily. But height is a crucial component at least to me it is.

I have to look more into it, since it's a huge move.

I'm not passable right now, all I said is "could" lol.

All I get is gay men.

So many warning bells go off they are deafening. You are in the USA? Going to Holland to live with guy you have met on line? You are nineteen and never left the USA?You like Holland because people are tall (crap BTW) but lets hear Annette.
Make damn sure you have a return ticket and that people know where you are and that you have to contact them regularly. I strongly suspect that you could well end up spending most of the time on your back with your legs spread, the rest on you knees making sucking noises.

This is so dangerous. The sex trade in Europe is very active and tall (USA) girls are worth heaps. Ah have you thought about why he has so much money to cover your expenses? I would run away from this very quickly.

As someone else noted, so many red flags and warnings exist here that it is not even funny anymore.  And I have never seen so many indicators of various 'isms' in the whims of one person in a post on any board I have ever frequented...

My guess is that OP has also never bothered to look at the issues associated with immigration.  One does not just pick up and move to another country.

Hopefully OP will mature soon and realize that there is MUCH more to real life than looking for someone to use...

Cindy is right.  Listen to her.  She is one of the few people on here who has changed countries and that's within the Empire and while perhaps not very difficult, I'm sure it was both time consuming and involved.

Things like health care and coverage of college tuition tend to be for citizens only.  This from the government's own page (I'm only choosing two, there is an extensive list):

To apply for a residence permit you are required:
...
To have sufficient monetary funds to finance (for example an income through labour or a financial sponsor) your stay in the Netherlands
...
To have health insurance to cover any medical costs in the Netherlands

They are not only NOT going to give you health care, you have to prove to them you have it covered in order to stay.  You also have to prove you have money.  And if you think the residency permits are hard, wait till you try to get a work permit.

My guess is that OP has also never bothered to look at the issues associated with immigration.  One does not just pick up and move to another country.
Also very, very true.

Sure, you can go to a university in another country, but its not going to be cheap at all, matter of fact, it's going to be really, really expensive.  And, even if you learn nothing else you'll finish with the equivalent of a Masters Degree in filling out government paperwork.  Tons of it.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Hi girls

What can I say about the Netherlands, I think it's quite the same as the US.
Sure, there are tall people here but also in the US or other countries.

It's a small country about twice New Jersey, loaded with more than 17 million people, so it's a bit crowdy.
Most of the people are living in the western part of the country, so there are some spots in the other parts who are quite.

I can't tell you anything about the guy you have meet, there are  a lot of good people here but also some bad guys, like everywhere.

The standard of living is quite high in the Netherlands, about the same as Germany and the Scandinavion countries, prices are compared to that standard, so it's a bit more expensive than the US.
We pay tax for everything except breathing but, when you are in the healthcaresystem almost everything will be paid for you.
There is an own risk in the healthcareinsurance but that's only $200, so srs cost you $200.

If your immigrationpapers are okay, there is not much to worry about.
It's different for foreignh girls with no good papers, the bad guys let them work in the sex industry and most of the time they can't go to the police because they are illegal.
There are known cases from african girls who did go to the police, at the end of the day the bad guys where cought and behind bars and the girls were getting the right immigration papers, but that's an exception because those girls should be killed in their own country when they were send back.

Most of the people are friendly and finding contacts and new friends is not too hard. English is widely spoken in the Netherlands.
When you talk with the Dutch you will notice that everybody has an opinion about something, and they say it out loud.

Transition is not a very big item around here, more important is how you present yourself, if you're friendly and willing to talk there is no problem in general.
People with an attitude have  a hard time.

People are quite tolerant here, we like to be free and making our own desicions, something like..no one tells me what to do, i make my own desicion.
This will sometimes lead to bluntness, people say what they think, it's honest but not always very diplomatique.
There are a lot of people from other culteres here, sometimes it makes things a bit complicated.

We do have some nice old cities from the middleage time, with terraces where you can sit down in the sun and enjoying the conversations.
I suggest that you get the information you need and make sure that everything is safe before you go.

Don't jump into the blind but be informed, about the country and about the guy.
Like Stalin said...trust is good but being in control of the situation is better.
If everything is okay and you still want to go to the Netherlands.....we welcome you.

I hope you will thinking it over carefully before you make a desicion.
If you have specific questions, just ask and I will answering asap

hugs
Annette

Thanks I changed my mind about this, I figure guys in the USA would be a lot easier and a lot more realistic.

I don't think I am going overseas anytime soon.

Just good USA, just far away from my current state.

Like Hawaii!

I  don't even think height is the standard to be passable.
Like a real dutch girl I'm tall, 174cm I think that's about 5"9"

I spend a lot of vacancions in the USA and they always speak to me as maám, where ever I come, shops, restaurants etc.
So, there must be more than height to be passable I guess.

Hugs
Annette
