Carlson sentenced to 10 years in prison

A Payette woman accused of using a hoax destructive device and starting a fire that destroyed a pickup was sentenced to serve 10 years in an Idaho prison Friday morning.

Catherine Carlson, Payette, sat quietly Friday morning as Third District Judge Susan Wiebe read her sentence. Carlson was sentenced to serve a minimum of three years for each felony charge, to run concurrently, as part of the 10-year indeterminate sentence. She was also ordered to reimburse Payette County $1,500 for costs of responding to the arson fire and was sentenced to serve 180 days for a charge of indecent exposure.

She is being credited for time served in the Payette County Jail, which is almost one year.
