I have a crazy colic/cowlick whatever it is...and it's right where a girl would part her hair...and It's really annoying because no matter how many times I try to do something with my hair, it flops back over and makes me look like a girl.  Are there any remedies to this thing, or are there any hairstyles that would look ok even with it?

Can I see a picture to better understand what you're talking about and in what way you feel it makes you look like a girl?

Unfortunately, we can't really tell you how to fix it,
If we can't see it.

Besides, depending on how long the hair is,
You might not be able to do anything other than cut it.
Generally, with cowlicks (like the ones that I have,) Products don't work well to hold them down.
I've tried hairspray, gel, and everything in between.

It doesn't really show in pictures.  I have a few you can see where it splits my hair, but really all it does is force my hair to part on the side and poof up.  So It looks like I have styled bangs instead of a straight cut...  I'll see what I can do about pics.

Well if you're hair is not super short you can use a straightener. That's what I do.

I have a similar problem. I had my head completely shaved for a while, but now I either use hair wax to form a quiff by flattening the sides and combing the top forward and up, or I just comb the lick in the direction it wants to go with my fingers. If your mom would be ok with you having your hair very short, but not necessarily shaved, that would be the simplest way to handle it.

Yeah I've been talking about shaving my head or buzzing it really short...Most people think i'm crazy and that it will look bad, but I just really don't care.  I'm kind of tired of hair in general...and my hair grows so fast, if I shaved it completely bald, it'd be to my shoulders in less than a year...

If you're going to shave your head, do it before the weather gets really hot - or you'll have to put up with a short but humiliating period of tanned face and white scalp (been there, done that...) - unless you're one of those dudes who doesn't go out in sunlight anyway .

I'm more red and freckled than white...comes with being irish i guess...my arms are tan/ish, atleast compared to my stomach and legs they are tan, but I don't think my face is that tan...I like to stay inside, and if i'm outside, i'm covered in spf and shade.  I have this thing...where I like to turn into a lobster if i'm outside too long.

Go for it, then - one thing I noticed when I had really short hair (which was for about 15 years - it was a sort of "Buddhist uniform" but I prefer civvies now) is that I needed more sun protection in order not to get sunstroke. So a hat you can live with is a good idea, but wait until you've shaved your head before buying one that fits .

I don't know if i'll buy a hat or make one.  I'm a freak crocheter...which, a beanie would be pretty hot in the summers. But in the winter, as long as i have a crochet hook and some yarn, i'm never in any shortage of hats... I've got a sock monkey one that is my best friend when I go sledding.

Fedoras are pretty cool in summer .

I look kind of funny in fedoras, but the last time i tried one on, I had long hair.  Maybe with shorter hair it will look better...

I buzzed my head a few months back and I've already had 2 haircuts since then, so if you don't like it, it'll grow back. Mine wasn't shaved too close though, I got a 4 on top and a 2 on the sides and back.

Okay, so my mom chickened out on letting my friend cut my hair, so she paid for me to get it professionally done... I love it.  Maybe still a little long, but much shorter and I'd be bald, so I'll keep it.  It's what most girls would consider a short pixie, but still versatile enough to be styled the way I want it...Very happy with it.  I'm thinking I will keep it for a while.  Pics up maybe tomorrow depending on how my electronics cooperate.
