(This was originally posted on my blog, down in my sig)

Woo!

So, I met with the therapist and re-told the life story yet again. That went well, but there was a hitch in which he wanted another session before writing any letters. As it turns out, he's also a priest. The lucky part of seeing the thera-priest is that his sect broke away from Catholicism over social issues like LGBT, and he's seen T people before. He was quite supportive, but was hesitant to write any letters until he did some psych profile testing so we scheduled another appointment later this month.

I saw my endo right after. And by right after, I mean right after. I had enough time to drive across town to her office. That was an amazing visit. She walked in and after introductions she said something along the lines of, "I haven't dealt with this in a while, but there's a lot of cool new options for treatment than there was 20 years ago. So I read up on the latest guidelines from this year and we'll just go through those." She didn't ask for a letter or anything. As long as I was seeing someone, to her, the details weren't her business. She was just there to make sure I stayed healthy. Really nice, too.

She ended up putting me on the patch that you see above, and spiro. I had to ask for the finasteride but once she thought about it she realized why it would be effective and was glad to add it to the list. Progesterone will wait until these three start bringing my levels into range and then we'll see from there. I do want to start on that at some point soon.

One thing that stood out to me throughout all the office visits was the focus on surgery. I was never the one to raise the topic. Not once. I want to, but in my mind that's so far off it's not worth sorting out just yet. I have neither the money nor am I full time yet, so the year countdown hasn't even started. But all the doctors seemed interested in my prospects, to the point where after explaining I wasn't worrying about that yet only my endo dropped the subject. That got awkward, but if that's the most preconceived nonsense I have to deal with in this process, holy ->-bleeped-<-, I'll take it.

If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Congratulations! I started 6 weeks ago myself, so that first time feeling is still fresh in my mind.. :) Therapist to Gyno wasn't quite as fast for me though.. I had to wait a 2 days.

Right now I'm still separating the relief and joy of this from the actual differences, but there was an initial rush that was definitely chemically induced(I take enough meds to recognize the sensation as a  sudden change in body chemistry).

I had the giggle fits all last night too. But I won't complain about that! :-D
