So this year was my first Pride Fest (out of the closet), and I had SO much fun!  I was I was able to let go and just BE for awhile.  It was very liberating.  I met some new people, met someone from here, and I had my family there with me.  The attention I received was well needed for my confidence, and was the best "Father's Day" present I could have ever asked for.

       If you've never been, consider it; for it is one of the few places you can be you, without inhibitions, even if your not fully out out.  Besides, we all need to party every now and again... 

       What are some of your best experiences from any Pride?

It was, indeed, everything you said!  And it was great meeting you and your family!

I particularly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the ability to be whoever I wanted to be, no matter how outlandish.  Not that I was outlandish at all, but I could have if I wanted to.   Also?  As soon as I put on that little star tattoo, I felt like a child who could be free.  My only regret is I didn't take the chalk and draw anything!

Sure wish I could have made it for the parade today, but already had too many plans to work my way out of.

It was fun, but to be honest I got bored rather quickly and went home to study.  Still, it was a nice day and a good excuse to be out and about.

Some fella tried to take my dungarees off on the dance floor at Exeter Pride a couple of months ago - and for some reason, that really cheered me up . Plus I got mistaken for a not-passing-well FTM (because I dress like a tomboy) and that was also encouraging . But generally, it was a great atmosphere, and the public were really friendly and curious (in a good way). Marching through the town centre to the beat of a gaudy samba band was a real treat.

Zoe, I like the new PIC.  Seems very familiar...  It was grand fun on Saturday, but my god, Sunday was unbelievable!  The amount of people was easily quadruple that of Saturday, and I went a bit more noticeably dressed, and reveled in the attention...  I'll change my profile PIC once I get it on my computer (right now it's on my wife's phone). 

Lee, I should have tried to meet you too!  I forgot that you said you live in Colorado too  ...  Well, soon we'll have to meet as well.

Padma, Sometimes a little attention goes a long way...  I'm glad to hear that you got some.

Can't wait to see it!   And I really do wish I could have gone on Sunday, but my brother and sister were driving down from Greeley so we could do a family Father's Day lunch, but they were late and didn't arrive until 1:30.  Then lunch/dinner until 3, family time until 6, and by then it was too late to even go see the cat circus that was at the Bug Theater last weekend.  Really wish the parade hadn't been on Father's Day, because that was the only reason I couldn't go.

And yes, I had to get a pic of me with that star tattoo before it faded away.   It was part of me reclaiming the childhood I never had and made me feel happy all day long.  Seriously, I glowed every time I looked at it.   I'm glad you thought to ask them if they had more!

I have a tan line from mine, so it is still making me smile; as are my other tan lines...

  I didn't realize the parade was so long, and I ended up burning half of my face which is now a little tanner than the other side.  I'm a walking ying yang at the moment.
