What about chest hair. Whpat should i do with that

katia

methinks it depends on the circumstances; electrolysis is [ususally] done before or during hrt.

Don't worry about body hair rite now. Start with the face as soon as you can, that is the very most important part, not only physically, but emotionally. The body hair will thin and lighten with HRT, and depending on genitcs, but don't waste to much time or money trying to do any of the body right now, just concentrate on the face. face. face.

Sorry for being so skimpy with the details. I read the forums all day and post from my mobile phone.  ;).
So the face. Ok. I have read all the posts about electrolosis and laser, so im up to speed there, but still confused about timing.
Cindi, you said start immidiatly, great. What about testosterone or HR desn't it matter? Will it make a difference. Should I be on any medication. or is it just start now.

If I see a theropist and decide to transition I should start it then yes???

am I looking down the right road.

cheers

You should start once you are sure transition is right for you.  Generally, the speed that the hair is removed will outweigh whatever T (testosterone) does if you go regularly.  Also, it DOES take time for all the T levels to drop to female levels (like months).

I understan that T blockers can be used, would it be helpfull in this case befor HR.
  •

Melissa

I believe you still have to have therapy before you can even get T blockers.

But can I get T blockers whilst on theropy befor HR????

It's up to the therapist.

I just inquired at 2 dermatologist's offices that do electrolysis and laser removal. One said that my hormones would fight the effort if I do it before getting on estrogen, especially face, but it wouldn't be a waste to start anytime. Lots of surface area to cover, or uncover. LOL!

Hi tara  ;)

The more I think about "SO" and I, the more I think about transition.

I dont know what to think at the moment.

keep intouch and let us all know what you decide about the hair removal.

Oh, I've decided! Starting on my back and shoulders Monday, then next paycheck, my cheeks and hands. Going to try laser, as I have the right skin/hair color combo. Will see how it goes. I'll keep you posted! :)

I dont know about that skin type hair colour stuff but I like the sound of laser over electrolosis. things have come on since the stone age. LOL

Sorry girls
just messing with you.

I am interested to see if there have been any advances or new procedures added.

Come on you lot, you seem to know every thing.

Your face is the first thing people see when they see you, so, I agree with Passiflora, everything else (as far as hair) can wait, but not your face; and if you can, do the upper lip first.
