Yes it happens once in a while. I can usually see it in their faces and either I'm out of there pr they are. It's usually while I am out working at my job. Now that it's summer and I have no jacket or coat to help hide things, it's sometimes noticeable that I was born a Woman. Going up stairs I usually try to pull my shirt down so it covers things but I guess that's hard to do to well when you have a big butt and are skinny everywhere else. 

Anyways in that very same situation, these 20 year olds were standing on the second floor landing of a staircase so I used the other staircase. Coming back down off the stairs, one of the girls asked me if I was  a chick.  I briefly looked at her and walked away and didn't say anything. The guy said something to her right after she spoke but I'm not sure what he said. That was the first time in these few years that I was really bothered by it. It happens once in a while like I said and usually people just stare with that stupid look on their face and move on but this makes me go over it over and over in mind. I may very well see them again in the future. Some people at my job know everything about me and some don't.

I know I'm not the only one this happens to do. What do you all do when this happens?

P.S. I used to post here probably back around 2006 or so and got busy with life and forgot my name and password.

I get asked a few times wither i was a chick or a guy, i just take no noticed of them and keep walking. I wouldn't know what to say or do if i had to do something about it, as my voice does give it away.

Happens to me sometimes... best I ever do is an awkward shrug and complain about it to my girlfriend Sorry I can't be more help.

If they're not being rude I just correct them (If someone says "miss" or "ma'am I just say "Sir") but if they're being douchebags, then I tend to react in kind.
And make some really inappropriate commentary that either pisses them off into an argument, or shocks them into shutting up.

I thought against saying anything because since there were maybe three guys and two girls, I didn't want to risk something else happening. Violence still happens and that's what I am always worried about.

I normally just say I am a guy. And if they keep saying stuff I ignore it. No one really says anything tho cuz all my friends adore that I am trans and back me up. At work if someone says ma'am I say sir and they say oh I'm sorry I thought this was Regina and I say no this is drew sorry my voice is high and hang up.

I just ask them what gender they are or ask them why they want to know what is in my pants so badly. The latter scares em off

Well, yeah. Good call on your part, if it's a group and you're all alone, you definitely don't want to antagonize. I'm usually only out with at least two other people, I'm paranoid as hell so I try to avoid going out alone as much as possible.

There is no way that I can pass face to face (currently), but I do a lot of my interactions over the phone and internet voice chats.

Thankfully, I have several people that immediately jump to correct people with 'He' if somebody mistakenly calls me a she.

A friend gave me some really good advice for when people decide to try and make me 'prove' my gender.  She recommended that I respond with 'I'm sorry that you're so insecure in your sexuality that you think you need a reason to be sexually aroused by my voice.  I, however, am not so insecure in my own that I feel the need to prove it to you.'
