I woke up this morning with a scratch in my eye from sleeping with a soft contact. It got worse as the day went on, I kept it patched most of the day. It's been a pretty unpleasant 4th. Looking at it now, there is a dark spot inside the cornea. Hope a good night sleep makes it better. Otherwise I'll be going in to the Emergency walk-in clinic.

Maybe there is a good side to it. I wasnt able to participate in all the discussion today in the Opinions forum, which kept me out of trouble :)

hugs,

Val

Ahh that sounds terrible. I used to do that when I was younger accidentally in class hahah but I now wear hard lenses and try not to doze off with them in.

Hope your eye is okay. I just had a terrifying week myself dealing with my eye too but my upside was getting a week off work.

Oh my, ouchy!  Did you mean a dark spot on your eye, or a dark spot in your vision?  Either way ouch, I think I`ll stick to glasses. Hope you`re better soon.

*winces*

If there's one thing which makes me all squirmy, it's the thought of anything coming anywhere near my eyes. :-\

*big hug*

I really hope it gets better soon, Val.

Same here!   :o  Having things wrong with one's eyes sounds scary!

Valerie, I wish you a speedy recovery.   ;D

I hate needles in the eye ugghgh I don't mind shots otherwise as long as I can't see it but when it's going in your eye there's no where else to look :(

Hope your eye is healing well.  I was going to need a shot too but somehow dodged that one. I still have a flasher in my central vision, apparently it's blood going in a tear from dry macular degeneration? Whatever the hell that is hahah.

Hope you are better soon Val. Anything affecting your vision is a real nuisance to live with at best.

Monkey, Macular Degeneration?
I don't mean to be alarmist but I'd say, Run, don't walk, to an eye specialist.
There is a public health campaign going on here in Australia at the moment to get people to have it seen to urgently.  It is the leading cause of vision loss here.

Yeah apparently I've had it for years and I'm sure I've been told it when I was younger but I never realized what it really was until recently.

I am -18 in both eyes with retinal detachment in my right eye, fixed with surgery. I get check ups every 6 months. So blindness/vision loss is something I can't avoid at this point, it is just going to happen.

Good to hear.  For such a small thing, it really is debilitating.

Why is it that it seems like we rarely realize how important something is until it's not working properly, whether it be a cellphone, a car, or an eyeball?
