Gender Identity Survey

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GenderIdentitySurvey

My name is Andy Bauerband, and I am a graduate student at Towson University. I am conducting research on transgender people's thoughts on their gender identity. If you choose to participate in this research, you will be asked to complete a brief survey, which should take approximately 20 minutes. During the survey, you will be asked to rate how strongly you agree with statements about yourself and others regarding thoughts specific to your gender identity, as well as thoughts about your feelings and experience of others.

would have been curious what they were asking, but since I don't identify as either 'transgender' or 'gender variant,' I wasn't agreeing to the first question...so again, it will be a skewed study (well, even moreso than any self-selection survey would have otherwise already been).

It asked a lot of questions that seemed to be trying to find out if we're self absorbed, whiney paranoid people.

Many questions were so poorly worded I didn't know what they were asking.

I also found wording problems throughout, but none so bad that they couldn't be overcome by a few simple substitutions that seemed logical based on context.

I took the survey. I hope it helps. What always bothers me about these sorts of survey's is this, do you want to know how I felt about gender identity before I transitioned, or now? My whole psychological make up has changed considerably. I used to me more afraid, more depressed, etc. then I am now. How often do I ruminate over past actions? before I transitioned, all the time. Now? hardly at all.

I really think it would make an interesting study to look at how people's image, gender identity and psychological profile changes through transition, just in case someone is looking for an idea for a research project.  ;D
