MUNCIE - A lot can happen in a year.

Last July, a transgender patient at Ball Memorial Hospital (now IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital) claimed she was ridiculed and even denied treatment in the hospital's emergency room.

This past week, the hospital earned high marks from the Human Rights Campaign for its commitment to providing a safe place for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender patients.
