Why do binders not work for me?

Binders don't work for me. I have bought two different styles from Underworks in the right size, and then I bought one binder that was a smaller size, and it worked even less.

Binders aren't working practically at all for me. I've seen them work so well on a lot of guys whose chests are larger than mine, while they don't even work on me.
The only way I've been making binding work is by wearing my black 997 binder and then ace bandage over it. I used to wear two binders at the same time, and even that didn't work.

This is really beginning to piss me off also because my ace bandage is falling apart, and I don't have clips so I'm taping it down. I guess I have to buy more ace bandage.

What do you mean that it's not working?  that it's not getting you flat enough?

I also use the 997 and it doesn't get me very flat, but flat enough that I'm okay with it.  Also, I have found out (from people telling me and now from experience) that wearing a binder for a long period (not consecutive) of time making getting me flatter easier.  it sort of makes my boobs squishier and therefore easier to bind.

Since you have the 997, have you tried folding it up to give you twice the layering?  that might be better than ace bandages.
Although I do admit that when I first got my 997, I still preferred ace bandages because they got me flatter.

You can could try exploring with wearing a sports bra under your binder and things like that.

I think everyone's body's are different, no matter how similar they look.  So even someone bigger than you could have an easier time with the same binder for some reason.  I think you just got to explore and find what works for you.

Also, when I got my first binder from underworks, it said that I needed a large, but that was WAY too big, I got a small, and it worked much better.
So that's a big huge size difference there.  Of course, now my binder is stretching out so I find it's not binding as well.

I have a 997 and two tritops, and none of them work. When I mean not work, I mean that it's almost like I'm just wearing a tight shirt or a sports bra. I've been binding for almost a year. So I don't know why it's so difficult.

I have folded my 997 up, and it still doesn't do anything.

are you SURE you have the right size?
what size chest are you?
i am a D and i had the tri top binder and no i wasnt completely flat, but when i moved my boobs to the side and down it looked and work SO much better.
ace bandages will hurt your body more, so they may work better, but in the end you will hurt more.

I get the best binding when I fold my tritop in half. It also take a lot of pressure off your lower ribs, though I wouldn't recommend it for longer than a few hours.
If you haven't tried it already, it might be worth a shot.

O.O The tri-top is long enough to fold it in half? I've got less than an inch between the tri top and where my chest starts.

Mine is, although only barely. It takes a few minutes to make sure there's nothing, er, peeking out, but I can just pull it off with my chest size.
It ends up looking a lot more like a sports bra, but the binding is great for short period of time.
I remember hearing that they shortened it at some point, but I don't know when that was or by how much they did it.

Haha that's exactly what I thought when I read his post. You must be tiny Renard! I mean, I have a couple inches of length below my chest, but not nearly enough to double over!

Maybe he meant the double front. My tri top is barely long enough to cover all of my boob. Binding really doesn't work that well for me either. The lumps I get from binding are as big as some womens unbound boobs. Button downs with double chest pockets work the best at concealing everything.

You guys got me genuinely curious, and I don't wanna hijack the thread, but I took a quick picture to show what I do.

It's a medium tritop. I think I'm around 34/36 B/C (probably closer to C, but I've never measured properly). There's usually a bit of overflow at the top, but from most angles it just makes me look buff, which I don't mind lol.
It takes a bit of adjustment, has to be really snug around the shoulders, and it's not very comfortable for the first little while after you put it on.

Lol Drew that pic is hillarious! You look like a totally different person now, obviously.  ;)

Renard, thanks for showing us what you meant. Mine is def not long enough to do that, but I have a size small and it's pretty tight. I'm about the same size as you, 36 B or so, and as soon as I have the cash was gonna get a new tri top. I think I'll try the medium this time. My small works really well, but it's a pain to get on since it's so tight, and I feel like I'm gonna bust a seam lol.
