When You Are Not A Real Transsexual

Whenever I come upon part of the transgender vs transsexual arguments and fighting, I have an incredibly hard time. I think of myself as a post-transition transsexual woman, but I have no objection to being called transgender. Indeed all my friends when I came out used the term transgender, and practically every lay person I've ever heard use the term was only referring to people with a binary gender identity who have medically transitioned or seeks to (characteristics frequently attributed to transsexuals). I honestly have great trouble simply figuring out what the difference is.

Yawn.

Yawn again, why bother reporting this crap?

Hell, I don't give a crap if the whitest person in the universe decides to ID as latino. More power to 'em.

Although, I thought it was pretty well-understood transgender just meant non-binary, whilst transsexual meant ID'ing as "opposite" of assigned sex. Though some people seem not to like using words with "sexual" in them, I guess.

three phrases that just don't (unfortunately) work in the same sentence, "I thought it was pretty well-understood", "transgender" and "transsexual". lols! xP

What leaves me so utterly bored with these ideas is they seem to be designed to draw demarkations between people in the Trangender community. They continually fail.

We are united in common suport for a common problem. Politics, nationality, income, nefarious past, (or otherwise), even if we personally need to transision or simply support those that do.

Everything is irrelevant, other than the single issue that identifies us.

Support.

But I'm sure the bored, who think they absolutely have to think fo something to say, along with the sneeky, looking to pick holes in our community, will continue to come out with this stuff. And we can continue to yawn.

Except that 'single' issue is NOT a single issue...and I (nor anyone else) has an obligation to 'support' those who were dealing with other issues or choices. 

Politics?  Certainly no common denominator. 

Nationality?  See above.

Income?  See above.

Ad ininitum

The REALITY is that my issues as a person who previously had a transsexual medication condition are NOT the same as Joe the plumber who likes being Jane when it is convenient.  Nor are they the same as the person who will never have surgery.  Nor are they they same as those who would seek to create any sort of a climate that creates an "OTHER" category on statistical forms. 

But I am sure that in the meantime, SOME will continue to seek to marginalize if not silence outright the voices of those of us who do not subscribe to the collective thought...
