I always respond to this one with: No, he didn't, this is something that happens in utero, so if you have a problem with me following god's plan then go take it up with him; not me.
Brilliant. Can I use it sometime?

My favourite is:
"So, does this mean you like guys?/Who do you go out with then?/etc."
I date decent human beings. I did before and I do now. Also, newsflash: gender and sexuality have nothing to do with each other

I'm also with Silas in that it gets a lot more interesting trying to explain my transition. People try to put words in my mouth in their attempt to get their heads round it:
"So, you've felt like a boy from an early age?"
Actually, no. I never even had a conception of gender until I got clobbered with it at school. Mum and Dad let me play with whatever I wanted, let me climb trees, play football (soccer to you Americans), walk around topless during the summer, but I also didn't mind the dresses or school uniform. Therefore yes, it took me a lot longer to figure out who I really was. The best part? I explained all this to my trans-guy friend yesterday (who *does* fit the "standard narrative"), and
he got it! Wish it was that easy to explain to others...
"So you feel like a man trapped in a woman's body?"
I feel like an androgynous man stuck with an androgynous woman's body. Although as I said to Mum - once I look manly enough, I'm messing with some heads

Says he, typing with shiny black nails.. ^_^
