What kinds of deodorant, perfume, cologne, scents do you like to wear?

Are there any that you would like to wear, but are afraid to?

Which scents do you like to smell on others?

Anything unusual about what you like?

I like bergamotty smells. I smell of bergamot mixed with citrus like limes and lemons...not sure whether that is man or woman - don't really care much.

Old old thread, but I'm going through Kendra's list of stuff now and have always found scents interesting.

I'm currently using mens' body wash and deodorant, but considering switching.  (I liked sandalwood bar soap for a while but stopped when the store I bought it from closed.)  I sometimes add a BPAL scent (Zombie Queen!).  From my religious practices I often also usually have traces of incense and/or essential oils following me around but most of those aren't strong.

People make fun of Axe, thanks to its silly marketing... but when I use it sometimes my wife tells me I smell good, so there's that. :D  Bay rum is the base of lots of mens' cologne, and oddly, women are shpposed to be attracted to the scent of cucumber.  Vanilla is what drives me crazy, though I've yet to try wearing it myself.  Sandalwood seems neutral to me, and jasmine as the "king of flowers."

I use Dove bodywash, rosewood and coco butter scent. I like Doves intensive repair hair conditioner.
I also use essential oils sometimes, but they are just mostly for my 'water falls' thing that water flows down the front of.
I found the just a little splash goes a long ways and lasts for about a day.
I can't be around strong perfumes and colognes. I tried to outlast a woman that sat next to me at a bar one time, but the smell caused me to pass out with a seizure w/tremors. I woke up in the back of the rescue squad. embarrassing, but it was the bartender who called and she knew I hadn't even finish my second drink. She told the woman to go get rid of the perfume, it was bothering other people to, I guess.

I love citrus-y scents, especially grapefruit and lemongrass. I have a grapefruit face scrub that I absolutely love. I also wear grapefruit essential oil as a perfume on occasion.

I like to smell clean. I use a plain bar of soap to wash, and powder scented deodorant. I've been contemplating men's body and hair washes lately, though. Also, I've noticed that a men's "fresh" deodorant smells completely different from a women's "fresh." I like them both, and keep them both around.

I'm allergic to perfumy types of scents, so I'm with Ativan/i that a little dab goes a long way and please don't stand next to me if you're going to throw on a bunch of the strong stuff.  I'd rather not have a sinus infection, thank you very much.  In high school when "lovespell" was popular... well, I'd say, oh please gag me, but they were already.

For myself, I like a soft touch of vanilla, or I've got this deodorant that's scented like honeysuckle, I believe?  It's not very strong either.

I also really like my boyfriend's natural male scent.  There's something warm and inviting about it, and I feel weird saying that.  Eh.

right now i use axe excite. found it among my little brother's stuff. i also likes his cologne which has a pretty similarly sweet purple scent, but i can't steal too many of his favorites. one of my own favorite scents is coconut, and my least favorite is that overly manly smell that makes me wanna puke just from a sniff. some kind of chemical that i can't stand any more than those in a dog's markings

other than that i only know what colors of scent i like:
crimson to wine red
light orange
purple
dark brown
clear
white to cream
light forest green
possibly deep blue, but i haven't come across a scent like that yet

I don't have the synesthetic sense of scents having colors.  If I did, i'd probably try to wear something that smelled purple just because I like purple. :)

So long as it's not grape or lavender... I'm a bit allergic to lavender and it makes my nose plug up.

lavender is a light purple that i don't like too much of. i only like the deeper purple tones

I use a cologne that's heavy on geranium and sandalwood. Yum.

The manly smell of old (especially a day or more) sweat just gags me. I get vomit, literaly, coming up my throat. If it comes up far enough, then I also have to put up with that puke smell. Baby puke doesn't bother me though.

I'll tell ya though, if you could find that right combination that would smell like a horse, every woman I know would buy some. Maybe to wear just a little, but more to just open it up and smell horse for a moment.
I've rubbed up a little on horses before going out for the night, and I get compliments all the time. "Where did you get that? Can I get some?".
Trouble is though, after a few hours, it smells like old horse sweat. Not as good, but ya start to lose the girls around you. By that time, I have them all listening on how to gentle there horses. There's always one or two that wants to take you home for a little other gentlen'.

Pure bred Straight Egyptian,Blue List, el kamsa. You could trace that horses papers right back to the original 11. Nothing like a Stallion! He was our good boy, he did a lot of breeding, and quite a few offspring that are grand champions and there breeding champions them selves. My girls have the last sire of the bloodline, but even that is a lot less of the blood line. Poor old man spent the last few yrs just happy to be on the other side of the fence from the mares. His active sperm count went under 10% a few yrs before he died. But he was always the king in the barn. He was the last of a legend. And he's becoming one himself through his off spring.

There are some men that make me cringe a little, and others I can tolerate pretty well, I honestly don't know why I like his scent so well in particular oo *shrug*

As far as the horses go... heck yes!  I always loved the smell of horses.  You brush them and get it on your hands and it's just so nice and warm and furry smelling... I dunno, haha, but it's great.

Fresh cut alfalfa, fresh cut hay. Granny Smith apple pie with just a little extra cinnamon on top. The outside of a fresh Cantalope, and peaches.
Exhaust from old classic cars running old style premium gas that just burn a little oil.
Kalamata Olives. Jasmine rice.
A cigar, not lit, but at least $10, just twirling it under your nose.
Cedar Forest. Pine forest. Thyme fresh pulled and rubbed. Sage. Curry. To me, some Curry can almost smell, just almost smell like a horse.
A new Harley. An old Harley.
The tops of my kids heads. they're different, but the same. I could identify them out of 100 kids blinfolded.
An Old Mechanics working garage. Especially if he doesn't throw out everything and most of it is dirty, and the floor is permanently soaked with oil.
A full clip of any gun fired rapidly. Old muzzle loaders x100.

Axe Phoenix, gardenia, and anything that smells either musky or flowery.   ;D  Weird combination, but it works.  For some reason the more 'masculine' I smell, the more all my female friends at my college want to hug me.   ::)

My fiancé wears Old Spice, and I love it.  Whenever I hug him, I get a whiff of that smell and the whole world just melts away...

I love citrusy smells. Lemon, orange and especially bergamont essential oils. Grapefruit is nice and I have a grapefruit pomagranet conditioner and I love that. I also really like grapefruit combined with Lily. On the other end of the spectrum I really like my brut under arm deodorant. Hehehe

Though most days I just go smelling like myself. Seems to work for me. I've had women get a whiff of me and then just start giggling and asking me what I smell like. I can't really tell them that I smell T mixed with my pheromones...hehehe *shrugs*
I'm also the spouse to the fabulous Mrs. Cynthialee.

I've lost that horrible smell from me about 3-4 weeks into spiro. I fact, just recently I asked a woman I know if I have that manly smell. She said I didn't smell like anything specific, but I smelled good. I hadn't taken a shower in 2 days. (Hiding out in my room from all the evil I feel.) I can't ever be sure about this lady. Pretty much a tom boy with a garage sale addiction. And her other addiction is helping people like me to cope with the world as it comes to me. Everyone should have at least a part time angel or equivilant.
