I'm so embarrassed to admit this, but I really enjoy pilates.
I got stuck in a pilates/aerobics class in college for my gym credit and ended up loving it.

I'm starting to get back into that again, at home, and a tiny bit of hand weights.

My girlfriend is desperately trying to get me to try bellydancing with her but that just...kind of terrifies me.
(But I'll probably get drunk and try it once for the lulz)

I tried P90x while out of town (my family had it unopened and wanted to check it out). And I wasn't crazy about it. I liked the Yoga but I felt like there wasn't enough of a variety of body parts/stretches. In my opinion the workouts are way too long. I know it works, but I can't imagine it has great long term effects, especially for anyone that is not on the P90x diet (which is a little ridiculous). After 45min/1hr of intense physical exercise, your body begins producing Cortisol in response to the stress which can eventually hinder progression.

Personally, I think nothing beats eating right, lifting and cardio, and an active lifestyle. I love lifting but outside of the gym I always try to go swim, hike, play pickup games with friends, ride my bike at the skatepark, whatever, just have fun while being active.

As stated, I LOVE lifting. I have since I was 14, and definitely fell in love when I played football. I keep my workout well rounded, but my favorite body part to workout is shoulders/traps, followed by chest and upper back.
I don't know what its called, I think it's a pull, but you take a barbell, stand with your feet shoulder width apart with a close overhand grip, then you pull the barbell up to your chest until your elbows, forearms and hands are parallel with the bar, then lower it. Think of it as a close grip Lat Pulldown, but your standing and the bar is from the bottom, not the top. I use the pyramid technique and this one gave me some explosive growth and helps give some definition to the upper back. Then I love combining it by some doing dumbbell shrugs (with a heavy weight) dumbbell chest flys (slight incline) and inverted bench after (with give or take a few lighter/lower impact chest and shoulder exercises). Feels soooo good, and when paired with the right nutrition the results are great.

Did my second favorite workout today, riding the bike up and over the hump at Annandale State Park.  You can ride fireroads to singletrack, anything from "easy" (relatively speaking) to "professional level/technical" double black diamonds - and if you think you are really awesome on that Mtn bike, try the Rough Go Trail.  It takes no prisoners.

And going from 321 feet above sea level to 1,320 feet you can climb and descend 999 feet on a ride.  That's almost more changes in elevation than the entire state of Iowa.  More if I count from from my house, which is at 167 feet.

Competetive sailing on the San Francisco Bay.  Hiking up a snowy slope in the Sierras and sledding (did this a few weeks ago, in 90F, with 4 ft of snow).

And then everyday things like swimming at the local beach, walking around the city, and exploring the bay by kayak.

Life is pretty good here in CA.

I like to hoop, it's lots of fun cause I'm learning hooping tricks while I do it.  I'm gonna start p90x prob, otherwise I speed walk a lot (it looks really stupid but it works) and do some strength training.  I would cycle but I can't really cycle, run, or do a lot with pressure on my knees b/c of fallout from being anorexic (my knees, shins, and ankles don't like to work well anymore).

Shhh, they will all want to come here.

Really California SUCKS.  The rents are high, and buying?  Are you kidding, it's not real estate, it's surreal estate.  There is no good pizza.  No parking either.  If there is not an earthquake there are fires and floods.  Read what he said, it's mid-freaking JULY and there is snow on the ground.  Really, you will all like Jersey a lot better.

Haha, I've lived in both states.  Honestly I've seen ppl in each state have this weird super dislike/disgust with the other state and I just don't get it.

Oh god no, not classes! I'd piss my pants, I've gotten so bad with social situations over the past year. She ordered a dvd recently and is constantly watching it on youtube.
