Hair specifically.

it would look more like this, clothing wise

All I have to say is that I'm lovin' that hairstyle <3

No clue if it classifies as androgynous or not, but still pretty sweet.

Too hipster for my taste.
Androgynous doesn't have to be flamboyant, you know ?

Just remember that androgynous is nothing more than a fashion statement.
You can look androgynous and not be Androgyn
You can be Androgyn and not look androgynous
If You are Androgyn and look androgynous, you don't.
You then look androgyn. Which can have a look of androgynous, but it isn't.

I'd have to agree with this.

I still like the haircut, though.  I've got long hair that I wouldn't want to get rid of, but I've been looking for something else to do with it, so I kinda like this as a possible idea.  No headband, though... I just like the layers, lol.

Why does androgynous always look so unfriendly, cold and self aware?

I like that wispy layer look myself. If I did that on my hair the thin ends would curl into Sherly Temple curls.

I think in general, even masculine and feminine, models tend to look that way.  It's "high fashion" or "cool" or something, I don't fully understand it myself.  In looking for androgynous looks most likely we just uncover pictures of models trying to achieve this "cool" look and that's what leaves that impression?

I don't know, just a guess.

Heck, I've seen manly male models look constipated, even, but that doesn't mean that all men give off that look, lol XD

I LOVE this (I'm stealing it BTW)  :)

I've seen models before they go out on the runway and they look like that. I know a lot of that look is that they are trying to be incredibly careful not to mess up all their makeup.

I guess that's why I'll never look to models for fashion tips - that and this

Sometimes I think the world of high fashion is just a form of comedy, or surrealism.

you're actually right about the surrealism. The comedy, not so much. *walks away laughing*

It seems like all the 'androgynous' hairstyles I've seen recently are way too short for my liking.   :-\  Maybe I can rock the longer femme-boy look or something, but I am in dire need of a change of pace when it comes to hair.  *sigh*

I like long hair...on other people.  :D  It's just too damn hot here!  (waiting impatiently until I can really afford to get a haircut...just a few more weeks)
