Haha I couldn't resist answering this one before going to bed.  The first thing I remember saying was actually a question.  The nurse was messing around with my IV and I asked her if it had infiltrated.  I got rather upset when she wouldn't answer me!  LOL  I may have been knocked out, but I knew that something was wrong with my hand.  And I was right, it had infiltrated; not sure why she wouldn't tell me that though.  (Perhaps she didn't know what that meant?)

I probably said some other crazy stuff, but I was mostly feeling sick and too embarrassed to throw up in front of other people.

Not really funny per say, but "that's it? you're done?".

Pretty much right after I woke up I kept saying how easy and fast the surgery felt and the surgeon asked if he could bring in a guy who has surgery tomorrow because he was really nervous about it. So the guy comes in and I'm like 'yeaaah buddyyy it was a breeze, no big deal no pain nothing mannn' hahahahah.


p.s. congrats on your surgery, are you gonna post any pics?

Funny stuff.  The first thing I said was, "Oh no, I late for work."  The nurses cracked up over that.

This is totally unrelated to us, but my friend had surgery to straighten her spine, and she was really nervous about it. I was there when she woke up, she looked trashed and just slurred, 'I changed my mind...I don't want to have the surgery!' and we all cracked up.

Havn't had top surgery yet, but when I had my wisdom teeth taken out (all 4 at once)  I asked "how long are you going to wait to put me to sleep and get started?".  I got really confused when they told me it was done and I was waking up already.  I also remember going on and on about totally random stuff to my dad on the way home, with my mouth stuffed with cotton, and getting really annoyed when he wasnt replying correctly.   Similar confusion when I woke up after being sedated to have my dislocated shoulder put back in place.  I'm sure I said some crazy things after my 2 back surgeries (fusion with titanium rods for scoliosis) and while on morphine after., but I can't remember anything specific.


ETA:  I remembered something from my second back surgery...  I had to have all of the titanium rods and hardware removed because of an infection.  "You kept it all right?  I want to make a sculpture."

when i was in the wake up room, i woke up and immediately said "i'm up!! can you tell my girlfriend i'm fine?" even though i had no idea whether i was fine or not, and i fell right back asleep. then i woke up again later and i felt like a couple of hours  had passed and the same nurse walked by and i's like "can you tell my girlfriend i'm fine? please?" and the nurse is like "yeah you already said that a minute ago, we're bringing you up to your room now."

then they brought me up to my room and i was telling everyone around how i was feeling soo fine...then i thought it was a good idea to go for the bathroom and i pretty much collapsed immediately....
...when i came to again after fainting (for a couple of seconds, then the nurse slapped me in the face and i woke up) i asked "how long was i gone? I had soo many cool dreams, all at the same time!"

Not trans related surgery, but when I got all my wisdom teeth out, I had some gems.

Referring to the office I was at as I was recovering: "Do they have a kitchen?"
"You should've brought Max!" (My dog)
After looking startled: "Mom, there's a ghost behind you!"

Anesthetic is funny stuff. XD

On the wisdom teeth tangent, I knew that the flying nurses weren't real... 

This isn't funny at all...but after top surgery, the first thing I said was, "They're gone, right? Are they gone?"

I knew what I wanted...

@emil:  My god, where do you live?  A nurse actually slapped you?  I'm seriously horrified by this.  I don't mean any offense, but that's just unacceptable to me.  Other than that though, funny story 

haha, actually they "slap" you in a way that some sort of acupressure point is stimulated. i didn't even feel or remember she did that, my girlfriend just told me afterwards.

[everyone at the hospital was very knowledgeable and caring (they do more than 200 top surgeries a year)]

bytheway, the first thing i said when my chest was revealed was:
"loooooook this mole shrank back to the size is was before my boobs started growing!!"


(i had a tiny mole on my chest that had tripled in diameter over the years)
