We are putting our child on hormone blockers prior to transitioning.  Using Seattle Children's Hospital will cost between $15,000 and $20,000 per year with my insurance not covering any of it.  It looks like I can get generic in Canada for around $800/dose (x4 per year) and $1400 for name brand.  Of course, Children's will not let me supply my own to them.  Anyone out there have any experience with a Seattle doctor who will work with you and Canadian drugs?  Is it legal to have an American doc inject these?  If not, can someone recommend a Vancouver Canada doctor?

From what I gather about the drug on it's website, it's manufactured in Chicago, and okay here in America, but American doctors will probably be wary about the cross border treatment. I strongly advise you to get into contact with medical experts, as your child will likely have to be monitored relatively closely for a few weeks after being administered the stuff. Beyond the next two addresses, I can't be of help.

Any drug is WAY cheaper from  Canada, mine included. You can inject yourself and have a doc just do the monitoring. You may have to talk to your doc first or call around to find one who is willing. Once you have a script, you can fax it to Canada or have your doc do so directly.

Woops,  I misread and thought you were in Canada.  Still, most of that advice just needs a tiny tweak and it's good.
