Do you wear makeup?

What brands do you like the most for eyeliner/nail polish/concealer/etc?

Do you go for brands not tested on animals?

meh

Yes I do. I wear Mac and I've heard good things about Illamasqua. Both of these brands don't test on animals.

As for nail polish, I just grab a cheap black I can find at the grocery store.

Natkat

I normally don't, but if I dress up I do,

Nope. I've tried to use cover up on zits and it just made it look worse.

Always had a big aversion and phobia with makeup especially lipstick. Even on my g/f have a hard time if she wants to kiss and has lipstick on. Don't know why just have always been like this.

haha my mom suggests I do that all the time and same here, instead it just looks like I tried to paint over my still obvious acne

Never worn makeup besides covering up the occasional zit and hickey.  I have done theatre makeup though.  I'm not sure what kind or whether it was tested on animals.

Never too sure about the 'not tested on animals' statements. The ingredients have been by someone.

Well, yes, but if you want to avoid any ingredient ever tested on animals, you have to avoid pretty much everything intended to be applied to your body. And most things intended to be consumed. Pretty much every chemical known to man has been tested on animals - the best you can hope for is to patronize companies that don't do animal testing themselves, so that at least you're not providing financial support for unnecessary animal testing, even if you're benefiting from it indirectly.

Re: the original question, I never wore much makeup, but the...um...stuff I use that I don't know what it's called. Shimmer powder? Sort of like glitter, but subtler/more adult. Anyway, that's MAC, as is my bronzer that I rarely wear. My lipgloss is some drugstore brand.

Never could keep nail polish on for more than a few hours, drives me nuts for some reason, and eye makeup irritates the hell out of my eyes (I always seem to get little particles in my eyes that feel like sand). And I have the same issue with concealer/foundation as others here, just looks like I painted over my zits, plus it also never remotely matches my skin tone. I'm not that pale yellowish-pinkish-salmon color, I'm a soft ivory-beige with blue undertones, which apparently doesn't exist in makeup.

I wear makeup depending on my moods; I call it my "Spicy Days".

I tend to wear overly dramatic makeup. My favorite is MAC 120 palette. And I've been in an odd mood for nail polish of late, don't know why.

Kyril,
Do you use a primer on your eyes before you put shadow? Or when you put the shadow on your brush do you tap it once against your wrist before applying? Before I found a good primer, I would put skin toned eyeliner on first and then shadow, bc it holds the powder in place, or a coverup that is neither liquid nor powder.

I don't really use the stuff right now but I'd love to be able to pull off guyliner  :'(

also would LOVE to be able to pull off this look:

I'm tempted to try it for clubbing sometime but knowing me, I'd just look like a girl who's raided her Mum's makeup box  >:(

When I was 14 or 15 I was pinned down by a bunch of girls and my twin sister and they forced make up on me, and some girl clothes and took pictures.

Yeah it was as horrifying as it sounds.

Buying make up is the one thing I could never understand (well that and female clothes). I couldn't tell lip gloss from eyeliner (or a skirt from a shirt), they all look the same.
The story is the same, I've just personalized the name.

No, lol, had no idea. But shadow isn't really a big issue for me - it's eyeliner and mascara that tend to irritate my eyes.

If those bother you, don't go cheap, get the pricier brands. MAC or something, because cheaper makeup will irritate anybody, or maybe your eyes are just really sensitive. If you don't wear makeup a lot that could be another reason why it's bothering you.

I did use MAC. I started having problems with my eyes (that really haven't gone away, ugh) when I was wearing makeup regularly. I think they're just very sensitive.
