I've been on T for 1 year and a month now but there are a few things I'm not sure about.

1) After getting a hysterectomy what happens if you don't continue the testosterone?

2) Is it common to have shots get more painful with time? - They never used to hurt but now the muscle twitches with the needle in or going in and shots are becoming a pain in the ass because of it.

3) What could make a needle spin while inside your thigh muscle? - I ask because I was injecting today and I let go of the needle and it started spinning, I know I was in the muscle so I got no idea why it was doing that...

1) You will produce no hormones at all and go through the menopause. You'll either need to continue taking testosterone, or start taking oestrogen instead.

2) I'd say mine got less painful with time because I know what to expect and don't get nervous anymore.

1. Like Ryan said, when you get a hysto, you'll need to continue taking either Testosterone or Oestrogen you'll go through menopause and you'll be at risk for early-onset osteoporosis.

2. My shots have all been the same pain wise. Sometimes you'll hit a nerve or something and it'll end up hurting more. Just try a different spot next time.

3. The needle spinning is probably due to your muscle contracting. Try doing your shot sitting in bed with both your legs up on the bed stretched out in front of you and relaxed. It's harder to tense your muscle in that position than it is sitting on a chair with your feet touching the floor.

1. In the short term nothing much will happen. I can't say how long "short term" would be. Might have blood pressure and cholesterol decrease if you had an increase of those while taking T. As for long term you could develop problems with bone density, and becoming tired. I do know of one person who was AMAB and they had an orchiectomy then stopped hormones. Bones are fine and no major changes in the past year. If you have a hysto but leave your ovaries then you won't need to take hormones (that is, if yours function enough to produce hormones). In that case you might have some feminization but that would mostly be body fat redistribution and muscle loss.

2. Mine aren't more painful exactly...I've been going slow with my shots to prevent anxiety and lately it seems like I hit nerves in my thighs.

3. Searching on google for muscle needle injection spin brings me here so...I don't know.

I have nobody to talk to about this really, I want to start on t whats the process? Can someone help me out please...

Hey, Panda. I always recommend numbing with ice for painful shots. I always ice it first and I almost never have pain.

Ditto on the hormones after hysto. Your body needs hormones of some sort, so if it's not T, it'll have to be E. If you're having just the hysto and not the oopho, though, it may be different--I'm not sure. I had both, and my doctor told me in no uncertain terms that if I ever stopped T I would need to come back in and start E ASAP.

Do you rotate where you inject like left thigh, right thigh etc?? Every time you inject it can form scar tissue, hard lumps and fat deposits...therefore one should rotate injection sites like left and right, even on the left in the middle third where you inject further divide that third into thirds, if that makes sense. Just gives previous sites where you have injected a chance to rest.

Panda, if you have your ovaries removed and aren't on T, that's supposed to be very bad for your body. We're apparently built to be on one hormone or the other.

APride, have you tried starting a new thread? Or combing through old posts? People's paths differ, so there is no one right answer.

Something you can do to find answers to your questions mate is to search old threads and/or google for specifics wherever you are located. Chances are some of your questions have been answered before. Once you have done that if there is something you still don't understand or can't clarify please don't hesitate to ask a more specific question.

I would suggest alternating which leg you inject into. Some guys inject into their arm or buttocks. Have a doctor show you how. Also don't tense up too much. Do the shot when you are ready.

Off topic- I used to know a transman in my area who went by a nickname similar to yours. (Washington state) I gave him the nickname Rukus (My nickname at the time was Maskie). If this is you you should join up with the site because we have a lot of catching up to do. If not, just ignore this.

If you can't handle needles, Then maybe gel is better for you?
