In Memoriam: Howard Brown Health Center Mourns the Loss of Colleague,  Friend and Women's Health Champion, Christina Santiago

CHICAGO (August 14, 2011) - On Saturday, Howard Brown Health Center (HBHC) lost a treasured colleague and a community champion for women's health, Christina Santiago, manager of programming for the Lesbian Community Care Project (LCCP) at HBHC. Santiago died tragically with four others when a concert stage collapsed at the Indiana State Fair in Indianapolis.

When I heard the name I know it sounded familiar, but couldn't place it. Thanks for the update. I'm very sadden not only for her but the others that have died and were injured.

Was anyone bothered by the solicitation for money being included in that email?  (The link is the web version of an email that was sent out to HBHC subscribers.)

The solicitation for money for the family didn't bother me but the one for LCCP did.

It really didn't bother me, I guess it's the same as some of other memorials I see, where for instance someone young dies of cancer, you'll see help the family, and/ or donate to hospital site that took care of them.

Unfortunately I know the history of HBHC and the guy who sent this email out.  I guess that's why I had that reaction.
