Adam Carolla: "When Did We Start Giving A Sh** About [Transgender] People?"

This past weekend I went searching the blogosphere for Bert & Ernie related stories, and discovered Adam Carolla had done a podcast that mentioned not only trans people.

There's a particular segment that many be of interest to many lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans (LGBT) people where Adam Carolla, and his news partner Alison Rosen, discuss the Change.org petition asking the PBS consider Bert and Ernie's getting married. The segment is about 8-minutes long -- it has some very explicit language in it (begins at about the 1:19:00 mark in the audio):

If you're transgender-identified, this quote may interest you:

We saw Carolla on some car show a few weeks ago.  I asked Julie, "Why is this guy even on TV?  He serves no useful purpose."  I hadn't seen him in years and thought his career in entertainment was over, thank god.  I was surprised he lasted as long as he did.  Then I saw him on this show and thought, "They must be hard up or he's paying them."

Maybe he appeals to knuckleheads.  Maybe to lovers of low-brow shock value crap.  He's not funny.  He's a lousy host.  His delivery is awful.  His voice is whiny and annoying.  And he's hard on the eyes.  I wonder if he'd even be on TV if it wasn't for Kimmel and The Man Show.

Since he has no talent, he says things like this to keep his name in the public eye.  If he relied solely on his wit, he would have been gone long ago.
When you judge others, you do not define them, you define yourself.

When did people start giving a sh** about Adam Carolla?

I think we may have found something we finally agree on.

I put stories like this one in the same category as the ones about idiots like Phelps...if people would quit giving them exposure by talking about their nonsense, they would dry up and blow away in the wind, never to be heard from again in any meaningful forum.  Instead, those whose fifteen minutes were up long ago get renewed life by saying or tweeting something controversial and all of a sudden they become relevant again...

When did people start giving a sh** about Adam Carolla?

Yup.  The only acceptable response.  Unless you want to go with 'Who is Adam Carolla?' which would be much better if he were there.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

I'd never heard of him at all before this. Obviously hadn't missed much.
