Do you plan on getting bottom surgery?

I plan to at some point. I got top surgery only because my late uncle paid for it as a birthday present a number of years back. I'm working on trying to save up for it. I'm hoping that a few more years on T will even further increase my growth making results much better. I'm hoping they continue improving techniques for once I can finally afford it.

Sharky - google perovic in serbia, there are also surgeons in Germany and other parts of the UK, even some good results in the US and Canada.. If you want the goods join yahoo groups - ftmmetoidioplasty, ftmphalloplastyinfo, ftmsurgeryinfo, The deciding line, mycenturionsurgery - all a wealth of knowledge, some great discussions on decisions, results and function and some awesome pics of results you wouldn't blink at mate...

I plan on a meta with the urethral hook-up (I believe it's called), but I'm getting top surgery first. I'm debating prosthetic balls, I'm not sure whether I'd want them or not. They'd be for more of a locker room sort of thing/sexual amusement. I don't want the hole sealed or removed or what-have-you, though. It doesn't bother me and it has its benefits (for me.)

I don't think the surgeries look all that bad, really. Small, in a lot of cases, but not terrible. Maybe I'm easy to please.

Perfect! Just the info I was looking for in another thread I started.

Small, but sensetive.

Size doesn't really matter to me anyway.
Even in death, may I be triumphant.

I'd love to but I don't see being able to afford it since I really can't afford even top surgery.

That's how I feel right now, but most likely, once I have the money, I'll have a meta with urethral rerouting. No prosthetic testes, no vaginectomy. I don't care if I end up essentially making myself genitally intersexed--- I'm with a beautiful woman who kinda digs that anyway, and I never had any desire to have anything but my breasts removed. I'd like to have an oophorectomy, but that's because I figure I might as well get rid of what I can that might become cancerous. Can't stand the thought of a hysterectomy, particularly given the risk of prolapse.

I respect guys' decisions to do what they will with that area, but for me, I can't imagine going through all the pain of a phalloplasty, especially considering the scarring involved. If they figure out something better in future, I may reconsider.

Right now I'm thinking no. There are some great results I've seen but they don't happen with just one surgery and it takes a lot more time and healing than top surgery... not sure if I can go through all of that.

Plus, if I were to find the money and do it in the next 5 or 10 years, and ten years after that someone comes up with an even better method that saves nerve damage, I'd be really, really pissed.

Hahaha, like finally buying some fancy new technology and then they come out with something in the 5th dimension.

I do, however, plan on having my female organs removed to reduce risk of certain medical problems.... I might feel differently about further surgery once that's done.

If money weren't an issue, I would still be on the fence. I would not get phalloplasty because there's not really any point in having it if you can't feel what you're doing. I would consider a metoidplasty, but I would only do it if there was some guarantee of sensation. So, unless technology in this area advances significantly, I would probably lean towards no.

As for the inside bits, I definitely plan on getting them removed since it's covered by provincial health insurance (when I finally get to the front of the line)

Yes, as soon as possible.

Even if there will possibly be better/more options down the road, i can't wait that long.
I'd get srs tomorrow if i could.

Unless I can get something that looks like a regular biomales dick no. So technology must improve.

I'm pretty sure I'd like a meta one day. I'm ambivalent about the details because due to $$$ this would be so far off in the future that my opinion may change and surgery may advance a lot in that time. Who knows.

Surgery definitely seems super important to me, however with the options as they are I'm not sure I would ever go through with it. For me, I won't be able to be intimate with a person (wheee, no pants!) until what's down there is gone. Phallo isn't an option for me, but I can see myself going for a meta with hookup and implants later on in life. However, like many on here have said, I really really hope there are some better options by the time I have the money saved to actually do something about it.

I am one who had a full meta with vaginectomy, urethral hookup, and implants.  It looks like a small penis because it is a small penis.  I can pee through my fly, and I also have a bf (cis) who is fine with my junk.  Yes, it is small, but for me it beats having an oozing hole (which was a big part of my dysphoria).

I found that the further in transition I got, the more I needed things to be right.  And I have seen pics of some guys' phallos and they are amazing.  Phallo is not for me (timewise and moneywise; too many procedures over too long a period for me personally) but I can see the size appeal.

There are more pics on Transbucket as well.

Dr. Perovic passed away last year.  Two of his students are performing metoidioplasty and phalloplasty: Dr. Rados Djinovic and Dr. Miroslav Djordjevic.  I have not heard many stories or seen many result pics from guys who have gone to Dr. Rados for surgery.  There are a number of stories and photos of guys who have had meta with Dr. Miro and his team (myself included, surgery journal is here: https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,102885.0.html).  All the resources that Aussie Jay mentioned are good ones, for both discussion and pics.

My reasons for having metoidioplasty are thus: I could no longer stand having the 3rd hole (it just messed with me psychologically, though kudos to the guys who have found a way to enjoy or make peace with it) and I didn't like the fact that my penis was held down by ligaments and obscured by excess skin.  I want to pee standing up without an STP (I'm still healing with a suprapubic catheter and can't use my urethra yet, but here's hoping all goes well).  I also really wanted balls.  I am OK with a small penis; I highly doubt I'll be capable of penetration, but I am OK with that compromise.  There are strap-on harnesses made for male anatomy (they have a pouch and are higher up so they won't 'squish' things), that are intended for men who want to wield a bigger size.

I've seen some nice phallos, aesthetic-wise, but I personally would be bothered by the fact that the penis skin was not originally genital skin; I want my body to be as scar-free as possible.  I also simply don't have the money or the time for multiple procedures.

About the link that Jay posted (metoidioplasty.com): Result 6 looks fantastic, but keep in mind that length is dependent on how much downstairs growth you have on T.  The surgeon's skill doesn't have much to do with how long you end up--he will do his best with what he has to work with.  Also, with meta, if you carry excess weight or have a fat mons, some (or all) of your length can be hidden in the fat (notice how some of those guys are pushing back on the skin around their penis?).  Liposuction and a mons resection can be done as revisions once the initial surgery has healed, but it is probably best to be as close to ideal body weight as possible.

Oh, and Jay: gratz on things working out with your BF :)

No - I don't think I'll ever have the money for it

Yes, I am planning on getting meta, but I'm not sure if I would want the urethral hook ups right away. I have read on urethral lengthenings not going so smoothly for some guys so I would like to wait a bit longer to see if the surgery success rate heightens. It has mainly been problems later on like leakage or skin dying, so I would like to know if I would be a good candidate for it before hand but I doubt it's possible. And if I do get the urethral lengthening I would like to get prosthetic testicles and closing. But this will definitely be after top surgery.

Its interesting to look over some of those surgery results on the metoidioplasty.com. Some of the results are impressive and makes me wonder what I would end up with if I start at just marginally smaller than case 6 ended up at. Something to look forward to in the future I guess.

Medically I am going to have to have a hysterectomy within the next 5 years because uterine cancer runs in my family (and I'm already starting to develop cysts), but aside from that, I don't plan to have anything else other than have my vagina sealed up. I don't want any genital reconstruction surgery unless a better option presents itself.

some people don't get phalloplasties just for sexual pleasure you know...
