Does anyone know if it is possible to get them before I get the reconstruction, or will they just remove the jewelry and work in a way that I'll have to get them re-pierced? I only want to get the areola trimmed a bit, if I get them resized at all, and my chest is only a B, rapidly shrinking due to fat loss to an A.

you have to remove all of your jewelry before surgery.

let me rephrase, I meant will they reconstruct in such a way that I will have to re-pierce completely afterwards.

no idea.  I think that would have to do with:  where the holes are located, what surgery you have, how much of the nipple stalk is taken if any, ymmv, ask your surgeon.

How soon do you see yourself having surgery? I would honestly just wait, or at least ask the surgeon after your consultation. I guess only he or she will really be able to decide after they take a look at what they'll need to do. Maybe get a piercing somewhere else in the meantime to satisfy your hunger for it.

I have no way of making the money, I've tried for years. I don't think it'll happen for a few more years. Unless CMSP decides to cover the surgery.

I would assume they would ask you to take them out before the surgery. If the surgery doesn't render the piercing useless, I would also assume there is a chance of it healing while you're recovering. No one can really give you a definite answer on what will happen. If your surgery isn't for years why not just get the pierced now and then later if you have to? Yeah you're paying for it twice, but since it will be so far apart, and is probably under $100, it's not like your wallet will really feel it.

Actually, my wallet wouldn't feel it because I get my piercings for free, as "practice" for my friend. Mind you, she's been doing piercings professionally for years.

I was considering that, my main worry was the scar tissue of the piercing healing afterwards, but I guess I'll just have to see what happens. Thanks for the input, guys!

Yeah, for some reason I was under the impression you planned on having your surgery soonish... but if it's a few years or more away, get the piercings now and enjoy them until the doc tells you to take em out. and that's sweet, haha. I've pierced my own lip and ears several times and pierced my nipple once but I really ->-bleeped-<-ed that one up and now my left nipple is slightly wonky ;P Definitely getting it grafted when I get my chest done haha.

there's a video on youtube of Dr. Medalie performing top surgery on a guy who had had his nipples pierced in the past and Medalie decided not to resize the nipples because he was worried about the blood supply for the nipples.

In my opinion, it's not the best idea. Most people hope for the best possible results when having top surgery and a piercing might just compromise that.
Plus, if your nipples get resized, you won't be able to keep the piercing. what they do is they cut the nipple at an angle, removing one third of it, then sorta fold it down ----so the shape of the nipple is actually altered and the lower end of the piercing hole would disappear.
If you don't get your nipples resized, you'll probably not want to wear it when wearing the compression vest (till 6 weeks after surgery).

I had one of my nipples pierced a long time ago. When I had top suregery I had to have my nipples dramatically reduced (they were huge) and now with what is left you can not tell it was ever peierced.
