I feel like an invader since I ID as an androgynous male, rather than completely non-binary. XD But, please don't mind this.

I kinda want to take baby steps into drag queening, since I'm pre-T and all. Baby step one is make-up.
HOLY CRAP. It is so hard to find pages on how to make a face look sort of androgynously masculine without caking on theater makeup to make you look like you're a 30-year-old bear leather daddy. Seriously.

So, I guess what I'm asking: Does anyone know how one with a feminine face can use a little make-up to look like a feminine guy, rather than a big beefy gorilla with a little lipstick? I'm kinda shooting for gothy/emo boy; they're wearing make-up, but you can tell they're MAAB, for the most part? (I'm sort of beginning to realize how offensive that sounds. XD so sorry.)

I realize this is completely difficult without a picture of myself, but I'm speaking sort of generally.

Now a lot of this depends on the venue of course, but the heavy theater makeup is there for two reasons.  One, stage lighting can completely wash out your entire face.  The more lighting they have, and the more professional it is, the more it's going to do that.  Second is the great theatrical maxim of the '40 foot rule' - that is it does not matter what it looks like from two feet away, it matter what it looks like from 40 feet away.  What you look like to the other people on stage is not as important as how you look to people in the middle and back of the audience.

And, if it ain't over the top, it ain't drag.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

I can't help with your questions but I wanted you to say I didn't find anything insulting in your question. also the not being totally non binary doesn't mean you don't fit here.  every person under the androgyne umbrella is different.
I don't want to be a man there from Mars
I'd Like to be a woman Venus looks beautiful
I'm enjoying living on Pluto, but it is a bit lonely
