Well, I'm thinking to take a break for awhile, no-one's word is worth much more than a cotton ball... If I make a final exit, don't blame yourselves

Hey sweetie, it sound that you are irritated by something, what's going on?
Maybe we can help to clear up somethings.

Virginia,  I don't blame you.  Too many on here now are elitists or just like to argue.  This is suppose to be a support site, but it is becoming more like Laurie's and that's the truth.

If things don't change quickly, more people will leave and never come back.

Take a break if you need, Dear Sister.  I have.  And I even retired because I am tried of all the BS that has happened here.

Hi  :)  I'm still alive  :P  Sorry for going kinda nutty this morning

I have a hypoglycemic condition and missed/displaced dinner last night (I put it in the microwave to warm it up and then got distracted by too many things and forgot to eat) That combined with a lack of sleep and taking a few sedatives to try and get some sleep lead this girl down a dark path... It's a simple formula really

No food + no sleep = Nutty Virginia  :icon_woowoo:

Anyway, my PSR worker (the guy that helps me deal with my PTSD) came 'round this afternoon and banged on the door until I woke up... We talked about stuff then he had to go to his next appointment

I think I'll have a banana and some tea then take a nap... I'm still feeling a bit out of it  :P

And yes Janet, the constant bickering on many of the threads does get to me

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be very many folks that a person can just talk to... Sometimes I want to post on a subject but then I see that the thread has been totally derailed into an idle argument between two or three people who are out to prove who's the biggest bitch in some kind of biggest bitch contest

Well, that's not why I come here

Come join us in chat. :) I find it to be a much friendlier group.

I know what you mean  Virginia.
It's annoying me too, I try to ignore it and I must admit that sometimes the comments are as sharp like the edge of a knife and sometimes funny with great sense of humor.
But sometimes it looks more like a discussion group than a supporting group.
There is nothing wrong with a good discussion once in a while but it happens too much lately.

You also see people who are not going with the stream and still are supporting.
Keep focussing to them, it's less annoying.

Take your rest and please come back.

Hugs and love

We all have our flips and flops. Take care, sister.

Any time you want to have a winge, drop me a like Virginia.

As to any posts that annoy me, I was in the Police for 30years so I have had my intelligence insulted by paid professional experts! Their client was the one in the dock, not me! ;D  So it's just water off a ducks back.

I like to make it  clear that my opinion is strictly my own, and if someone can show I am in error some way I will correct it, with thanks.

There are people from all over the world here and while we are using English, a lot can get lost in cultural translation, and sometimes we just have to agree to disagree too.

And not just from all over the world, but ranging from people with JDs, and PhDs to high school dropouts, from people who came from backgrounds that had maids to people whose parents were maids, from some of the most conservative places and backgrounds to people who grew up in very liberal areas in even more liberal families.  There are rural farm girls and boys and those of us from SF/LA/NYC/London where bright lights and big cities are all we know.  From the more religious than Jesus, to never remotely religious at all.  We have people who have been very successful in their live and others who have not.  That a lot of space to try to communicate over.  You're an ex-cop and we have a few convicted felons.

Then there is the age thing.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

That's exactly why I keep coming back to sites like this even though I no longer feel a need for the kind of support that is the intended purpose.  I like seeing people from diverse backgrounds interacting, discussing their daily lives and the things that are important to them.  For me, it's one the best things about the Internet.

Indeedy - we're mostly here because our experiences are similar to some others' here - but they're never the same. Because we're individuals, arriving from extraordinarily different directions. I find it fascinating - and sometimes the greatest patience is needed not for people different from me, but for the ones who say "you're just like I am, so you should do what I did!" ::)

Having said that, I'm amazed and delighted by just how much people do tolerate and understand and support each other here. I think it works way more often than it doesn't. It's just that the messes are way more noisy than the harmonious stuff, no surprises there :). So I'm waving a flag here for the harmonious stuff, and how much we all get from it - thank you, all.

Virginia you crazy nutt,

Glad you are O.K. I get the hypoglycemic blues on occasion also. When the overly opinionated experts bicker I just change the channel.
Hugs to you.

I'm glad it sounds like you are saying a while, Virginia. Sometimes I see other people express opinions that I very much disagree with and sometimes I want to high five or hug someone after reading what they have to say. Sometimes I find comments just plain disturbing and I just have to wonder if these people are just lashing out because they are in agony or maybe they are just mentally ill.

Whatever the case, as Padme said, "there is more good than bad here" and I have to agree. For every little storm cloud we have here, there are a thousand points of light and I love you all.  :-)
