::) This is a thread to find out how you have helped to make others feel happy today [helped improve someone's day]...

It can be something as simple as opening a door for someone, or as great as saving another person's life...

One of the most simplest [also proven] yet sadly overlooked ways to improve ones sense of well being [and maintaining it] is to make others happy...

How many miserable volunteers do you encounter ? Not many if any and there's a good reason as to why this is the case...The more one helps other sentient beings the more ones brain  keeps pumping out a cocktail of happy "feel good" chemicals...

We are our very own self contained ,walking, talking, thinking "legal" producer of "feel good" drugs...

For every action there's a "reaction" [law of physics] and this law includes what is happens in ones brain when one helps others...

However I know that when one find themselves in a bit of a downward spiral it can be quite hard snap out of it...So when next you're feeling down in the dumps why not just make a conscious effort to help somebody in need out, a family member, friend, stranger, work colleague...I can guarantee once you start to help others[with  random acts of kindness so to speak] your built-in drugs factory in the brain will kick in and reward you with a "feel good " buzz ...It could even put a smile back where smiles belong... upon your face...

Remember...Helping others each day-keeps those blues away...

So go for it "Make my day !"

But be warn these self producing drugs are good for your health and can be highly addictive...

I made the manicurist laugh when I was talking to her this afternoon. We were talking about moving to a new town and comparing Hobart to Melbourne, among other things.  She was happy for me when I told her I might have met a woman who has shown some interest in me as well.

Kia Ora J,

::)  :icon_giggle: :icon_lol: Laughter it would seem is not only the best medicine but one of the safest and cheapest on the market ...And has a species if we can make each other laugh we become  doctor, patient and cure all rolled into one...
Again laughter  :icon_giggle: :icon_lol: also ignites the feel-good chemicals in the brain... :eusa_dance:

It's "funny" because many are aware of this simple truth yet fail to act upon it when feeling down...

So for all those who need a pick me up here's a "free" prescription for a mentally healthier life style :

1)   Watch or listen to shows that makes you laugh  :icon_joy:

2)   After the feel good chemical are activated, look for someone[another person or animal] who needs your help and offer it with a genuine smile[the smile will be genuine because of the chemical cocktail floating around in your brain]

Take as and when required and if the happiness symptoms persist share them with others...

BTW Justmeinoz, how's the weather in your part of Oz ? Mind you all the Aussies will be over here for the rugby world cup[to watch the Wallabies lose to the All Blacks]  ;) :D ;D

King Malachite

I let my nephew "help" me take out the trash because he wanted to.

He told me "you need someone to help you take out the trash because you are a bigger girl and you need a bigger boy like me who is 4."

I just said ok lol.
