Do you stand or sit?

When going into public men's room do you stand or sit to pee? My cousins told me that it's very weird for a guy to sit to pee and her bf told her the same thing that's very weird for a guy to sit, so I'm even more paranoid about going into the men's room. I can stand at home, but when it comes to public restrooms it's even harder b/c I'm afraid of the leakage and I'm extremely bladder shy. I've only been in the men's room when no one is in there.

It really depends, I for sure stand to pee when there is no stall door or when the bathroom is filthy. Other than that, it's just about how I'm feeling that day and who is in the bathroom.
Like if my Dad is in there, or other younger guys my age I'll stand to pee (I don't know why, probably the need to confirm my masculinity?? idk if that made sense lol)

As for when I sit to pee, it's usually when:
*the bathroom is empty
*the stall is really long like a handicap stall and the toilet is not right across from the door
*when the cracks in the doors are sealed (I get paranoid that people will look through the crack and see me)

But usually when I use public bathrooms my younger brother (he's 13, I'm 16) is with me and he will stand in front of the door to block the cracks/door so no one can see through it and they know someone is in there if there it no lock. Which is awesome because when he does that I can just sit to pee if I want and not be paranoid.

Just out of curiosity... why would you ever want to sit to pee?  I mean no offensive.  I'm honestly wondering.

I sit to pee a lot just because I can't work my medicine spoon very well, and sometimes I don't feel like dealing with it spilling. but if I could, I would always stand to pee.

guys rarely notice if you sit and they definitely wouldn't say anything to you about it.  I've been on T for 2 years and the only time I stand is when I'm at airports, rest-stops, and gas stations. just because they're typically nasty.  STPs are just too much of a hassle and actually cause me more dysphoria

I don't know any guys who will drop a deuce and then stand just to piss. They remain seated if they have to do both. So there's one reason right there. If a guy is older and has prostate problems, there's another. If a guy has weird piercings going on he might sit. My other half said when he was in Asian a lot of Asian men would sit. My other half sits because his parents got divorced early on and his mom would bitch at him for pissing on the seat so he just started sitting instead.

I think the majority stand, but there are certainly exceptions and I don't know any guy that would make a big deal out of it in a public restroom.

I have an OCD cleanliness issue and I just am not good at controlling those medical spoons and whatnot just now...I end up overflowing it for peeing too fast or something and it ends up trickling down my leg...and then you have the remainder that's left in the tube or spoon and I hate to stick that back in my pants and I am just not good enough with my slight of hand to sneak it off to somewhere else. So, yeah. I sit to pee. I have been happy to notice though, that some men do go into stalls lately..Or that's just my sightings maybe..so, I don't feel awkward. And frankly..whether I stand or sit to me doesn't necessarily say if I am a man or not in my eyes. It wasn't one of those need to do hurdles in my dysphoria...I like sitting. it's more comfy...chillaxin..

I sit because I no longer use an stp.  It was too much of a hassle to carry around all the time.  Occasionally I'll get nervous about sitting, but really..I've noticed a lot of men sitting in stalls recently.  So I don't feel that out of place.

The only time anyone has ever said anything, they didn't even say it to me.  He asked a mutual friend why I sat/used a stall instead of the urinal.  My friend made up some lame excuse for me (didn't know I was trans at the time).  When that incidence occurred, there was a massive line for the single urinal in a small, crowded bathroom.  Why would I wait for a urinal when a stall was free?  The guy is/was a jerk, but I can't figure out why he asked.  Should have been rather obvious.

I sit because I'm lazy. I'll stand if I'm in the mood for it or if I'm in a filthy bathroom, but otherwise, I don't bother.

It may not be the norm for a guy to sit to pee but it's actually more common than you think.  Some guys sit at home but stand in public.  Some guys sit all the time.  Sitting is no big deal.  I sit because I still haven't mastered the STP and honestly if a guy asks why I was sitting to pee I would question him on why he is so interested in my bathroom habits.

Agreed. I've been using the mens room and sitting for years. Only have been commented at once by a janitor who yelled "you use a urinal to pee." and even the guys who didn't know about me commented how creepy it was that he even noticed. It really is surprisingly common to see guys sitting.

I sit to pee. Plenty of guys sit for various reasons. Piercings, aim problems, coordination  problems, disabilities, etc.

:-) Sitting down guys are good guys! At least according to most of us girls.

No messing all over the toilet seat or even the porcelain for that matter.

Only one thing --- one needs to close the LID after being done. It's bad feng shui to keep it open. Did you know that?!
They say prosperity get sucked down the pipe, well it also can smell = bad vibrations :-)

Woopsy, one more thing I noticed though just the other day.

Don't know about the US toilets but the more European designs have the water pocket to the back and with boy plumbing it makes no noise (splashing) but obviously with female plumbing it does get quite noisy (splashing).

Frankly, I'm not sure if ANYONE will take notice, but there you are.

Why do I know? Well I know my current noise and my friend was a bit into paranoia asking to hold her hand while having a pee.
Something had her spooked (too much booze actually).
So... I noticed she made quite some noise, where as I didn't --- even if I'd wanted too :-)
A sort of reverse issue for us (pre-op MtFs) --- but nothing to get hung about I think.

^ I was going to mention something about sound too. When we sit, there's a huge splashing sound compared to when someone with a natal penis sits. When we stand, the splash sounds more like a bioguy's splash.

I hate sitting. I don't know why. I don't think sitting or standing is a female/male thing, I think it's just a preference regardless of sex or gender. Think about dogs and other animals - some pee leg up, some pee squatting, whether they're ale or female. Some women would prefer to stand - hence all of the products like the Fenis and Shepee and such.

I much prefer standing but I lost my STP in the public washroom at work (whoops) and am saving for the Peecock. I sit, because only when I'm buzzed can I stand to pee with no contraption and I can't do it with my pants up. But I try to slow the flow so it doesn't sound like Niagara Falls. And wait an extra half-minute to a minute to pretend I'm also dropping a deuce. I know no guy would bother asking or even think about it, but it's just a precaution. I try to avoid awkward bathroom situations if I can.

I've heard that particles from the toilet can actually travel in a 25 foot diameter (or radius, can't recall) when the toilet is flushed.  So I always close the lid but I can't be assured that others will do the same so I keep my toothbrush in the medicine cabinet.

I sit if I'm feeling lazy or it's Werewolf Time, but I like using my STP. I can aim pretty well with it (better than my  cis brother, actually) and I always lift the seat.

I tend not to listen to people pissing, so I don't know why guys get so worked up over what it sounds like. If a guy asks, just give him a funny look and call him weird- that's what I did the only time I got that question, and he looked embarrassed and left.

I always sit. I'm too lazy to stand.

3 reasons

1. I don't feel like sitting to pee makes me any less of a man (though I do get paranoid sometimes that someone might glance @ me wiping. slight hypocrisy there?)
2. Too lazy
3. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more convenient when I have to piss super bad
