Hi

I'm 21yrs old living in Brisbane Australia. I was born a male and I have always wished i was born a girl. I have been reading up on GiD etc and i found this site. I was wondering where to start.  I am very shy and I don't know who to talk too or where I can get help. None of my family or friends know of my desire and I have no plans in telling them at this point in time.

Over the past few weeks I have decided I need to take the first step. Where do I begin.

Usually the first step is to go find a therapist.
They can help you decide what exactly it is that you want to do.
They are also the entryway into getting things done.

It never hurts to collect lots of information first.

Welcome to Susan's a great family here. This is a good place to gain knowledge and a place to learn. I am sure a therapist would help but if you don't do that, just ask around. I am a closeted crossdresser as I have a nonsupporting wife. I basically learned on my own and enjoy being feminine. You might start with a few pieces of lingerie. That is how I got started, good luck on you journey.

#3 - See a therapist - regularly

Cindy from Adelaide here. As Tracey said lots of Aussie girls here. The normal way to progress in Aus is to get a referral to a therapist, usually a psychiatrist, In Aus. They go through the issues and recommend you for hormones which are given and monitored by an endocrinologist. If you don't know who to get referred to ask your local TG/TV site. For Qld I have a listing for Australian Transgender Support Assoc of Queensland. PO Box 212. New Farm Qld 4005. atsaq.com.au. No idea what they are like. Then go to your local GP and ask for a referral, and the journey begins.
