I've been reading all the things people have to say about Peppermint Tea. Overall it seems to help woman and men with hair problems. I want to start on a regime of it, however I am afraid of the effects it might have on the hair on top of my head! Has anyone here tried?

Spearmint.
Not peppermint.

It works, and for me it worked very well.

oh yeah....
It does not mess with the hair on the head, just body hair and somewhat on facial hair.

Spearmint tea has been know to significantly decrease free testosterone in the body. It also helps to increase hair follicle simulating hormone, whatever that is.

Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) has nothing to do with hair on the scalp or anywhere else.  It is a reproductive hormone and has distinctive function in both the male and female reproductive systems, which is why it was mentioned in reference to the menstrual cycle in the BBC article.  Ask your endocrinologist.

QuoteEffects in females
FSH stimulates the growth and recruitment of immature Ovarian follicles in the ovary. In early (small) antral follicles, FSH is the major survival factor that rescues the small antral follicles (2-5 mm in diameter for humans) from apoptosis (programmed death of the somatic cells of the follicle and oocyte). In the luteal-follicle phase transition period the serum levels of progesterone and estrogen (primarily estradiol) decrease and no longer suppress the release of FSH, consequently FSH peaks at about day three (day one is the first day of menstrual flow)...

Effects in males
FSH enhances the production of androgen-binding protein by the Sertoli cells of the testes by binding to FSH receptors on their basolateral membranes,[4] and is critical for the initiation of spermatogenesis.

Love it and yes Spearmint tea everyday for lunch instead of a coke or other soft drink, two bennies, less body hair and some weight lose, was it the tea or the lack of soda's, just don't drink them unless it's a whiskey or rum in coke, either way it works for me.......

I buy my spearmint in bulk at a local herbalists' shop.

Most of the grocers here in Portland carry it too.

I thought it was Peppermint tea at first! My momma went out and bought some for me, and I was all "I just found out it was spearmint tea." She didn't care, but I felt all bad because she was so excited to find it for me.
