How do you gain curves in a healthy way? What I mean by that is how do you put on weight in a positive way so that your body has that necessary fat to look feminine. Right now I still have a manly body, and I wanna know what kinds of foods mainly will help me gain fat so that my HRT will redistribute it?

Monosaturated fats, like fish oils, avocado, walnuts, etc. You want to avoid the polysaturated fats.

1. Maintain a reasonable BMI (21-23).
2. Add estrogen.
3. Wait 1 1/2 - 2  years.

I vote for eating pie. preferably something with fruit in it. Fruit's healthy, right?  ;)

Honestly I gained all kinds of curves kind of unhealthily by caving in to these darn carbohydrate cravings that I get on HRT. But if you just eat well and give it time you should gain curves all over.. unless you're one of those people who can't gain fat no matter what, then you might have to resort to pies. :-)

Keep in mind that it does take time. I'm two and a half years in, and I have trouble passing as male now even without makeup, and wearing male clothes.. just simply because of muscle loss and fat redistribution.  It took a while, though, probably a little over a year before it really became noticeable.

You mileage may vary.

I hear what y'all are saying. I have only been on hormones for barely 5 months, but I still don't really have breast and I think it's because of my bodies inability to store fat.

Eat a lot of healthy calories, like 4-5000 a day and you will gain. Just make sure your eating good foods... fruits, veggies, meats & fish, and stay away from oils, sugars, salts. taking a quality multi-vitamin will help too.

Veronika I think you just have some major cravings XD

Now where did I put that pie.....

I don't know much on the subject of healthy fats and non-healthy fats except the simpler the better and that fat thats solid at room temp is not a good idea.
As for gaining curves that has to do a lot with genetics, does your mum have lots of curves?...does your dad?
Also from what I know (lots of reading) it can be up to a year before you notice breast growth and even then it's not written in stone everyone has a different body. All I can say eat simple (not overly fatty or processed foods) and exercise.

No my parent's were never fat. My mom has a tiny bit of weight from giving birth to so many kids I guess. I'm thinking really that my genetics have a big part to play in this. I have even cut back on my exercise a bit to gain a little bit of weight.

You can never go wrong with pie! Mmmmmm.  ;D

Just do not eat cake; it's evil. Here's a scientific approach as to why; http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/03/pie-verus-cake-scientific-approach.html

The proof is obvious!

In a healthy way..pie and cake? Not so sure about that... ;) I'm not even close to HRT yet, but I'd say the first reply about monosaturated fats is a good call, though the fruit-based pies in moderation doesn't seem like a bad call either lol!

I tried the eating pie and the eat calories.  It went to my gut and not to the hips.  Waiting for the HRT to create hips on me now.

I honestly find that fat redistribution from HRT is very subtle. And gaining curves also depends on genetics.  So, if the women in your family have narrow hips, more than likely you will too. Also, I think there isn't any specific food that will give you curves. No one can say that ice cream will go straight to your hips and donuts will go to your butt, lol.  That's why some transsexuals opt for surgery or silicone injections.  But if you want to try it out, I think any type of fatty foods will do.

Well that's it then! Problem solved. Pie it is. You can't argue with scientific fact !!
