I definitely need a lip lift. The distance between the base of my nose and the top of my upper lip is quite long(Thanks dad :-\). And it has a great feminizing effect.

The concern I have is that my lips are very full. I'm afraid that getting a lip lift will cause my upper lip to be bigger and I do not want that at all. Not only did my surgeon recommend a lip lift, he recommends fat injection to my lower lip. I guess to make them look even? Not sure.

Point is, I don't want to end up having Jay-Z lips, lol. This is something I will discuss with the surgeon but I'd like opinions from those who have experienced a lip lift.

Thanks.

I had a lip lift (or augmentation) with Fat/Skin injection by Dr Spiegel April 5th, 2011 combined with my FFS.  I had not planned to have lip Augmentation, cheek implants or rhinoplasty, I asked Dr Spiegel for his opinions, I bit the bullet, agreed and could not be happier!!!

Okay, recovery sucked!!!  Couldn't breathe through my nose, so swollen lips became dried out lips.  Went through a large tub of Vaseline over 10 days trying to keep the moisture in.  Pain none - discomfort hell yeah.  Would I do it again if I needed to - Double hell yeah!!!

Just discuss the size with your surgeon, get it in writing and never look back.

I know what you mean. Since I had my nose done already, that's something I won't have to worry about which should make the recovery much more comfortable, I hope!

I will. I'm scheduled to speak with him next week.

Is there anyone else that can share their lip lift experience?

I had a lip lift - very long upper lip.  It still is somewhat but not as bad.  For me, recovery was easy, probably because the rest of my face was killing me.  Face and neck lift=big time pain!

If you study pictures of attractive people you will see a short upper lip is very common.  For some reason humans view the short upper lip and the accompanying showing of teeth as attractive.  Maybe then you know your prospective mate can gnaw the meat off the bone and remain alive for mating and nurturing.

As far as fat injections, everyone I know personally who has done fat injections in the lip area lost most or all of it.  Dr. Raymond Konior does tiny silicone droplets to increase the size of the lip.  Every one of the women who work in his office have had it and they all rave about it.  And it lasts.  But don't think of the horror stories of silicone injections.  The amount used is minuscule.

Konior does FFS too (he did mine and a few other girls here) and suggested this when I went in for my consultation.  At the time I only wanted a slightly feminized version of my old face so I opted not to add anything.

Mine is very long too. Did it make your top lip any bigger? Also, has it left any visible scars?

Thanks Julie.
