Hallo, I'm Charlie from the D.C. area, and have been pondering whether or not to join Susan's for a while now. I'm androgyne/genderqueer with FtM leanings, so I kind of prefer neutral or male pronouns in reference to myself. It's just my mother and I here, though her parents are a short drive away, so I feel a bit isolated and find it hard to talk about my gender identity with them(though my mother is accepting and uses male pronouns/calls me her son, she doesn't agree with how I view my body). So maybe I can find people here that will be easier to talk to? I don't know, but it's worth a try. :)

Apart from that, I'm very much into a variety of things. I love movies, music, writing, the fine arts, comic books, and more. Hmm, and I'm a member of a Rocky Horror cast in my area, which takes up almost all my time on the weekends, heh. Oh, and cars are a big passion of mine. I'd love to get into auto mechanics as a hobby, since I love to keep myself busy. Let's see, what else is there to tell? Oh! I have legitimate rainbow hair. It's another hobby of mine to colour hair, and I've done fun jobs for my friends. :D

Anyway, uhm, I'm glad to be here and hope that I can be an active member on here. Thanks for your time!

From one newbie to another, welcome! Everyone seems nice enough from all I've seen, and there's always a friendly person to talk to.
Despite what my profile pictures show, I am a very smiley and upbeat person. I'm merely the least photogenic person alive, that's all :P

Hey Charlie, I'm also new here.  I really like your name!

I know a little about cars, but not enough to be an auto mechanic, and I'm really into music and movies.  I read the occasional comic, mainly well received ones.  I'd love to learn more about indie comics and lesser known classics.

Anyway, I'm an MTF in the very early stages of transition, but I'm happy to listen, or attempt to talk about most anything.

30kps is absolutely right, everyone and the atmosphere seems very supportive!

Thanks for the welcome, you two. :) Indie comics are wonderful, and lately I've gotten into several webcomics because I've been a fan of the artists involved for a long time and enjoy their storytelling skills. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to swap them with you. :D After all, there's nothing like a good comic to unwind with at the end of a long day.

What types of music and movies do you folks enjoy? I'm a big 80s rock fan, though I really like to give anything a try. I'm usually not too picky when it comes to music or movies, heh!

One more post, then bedtime.

I like quite a bit of 80s music, but I also don't like a lot of 80s music.  What are we talking about here, bud?  I might be able to make a few recommendations!

@bolsillodeverde: I'll have to give that album a listen, I've not heard of that group before. :D And hmm, well, I'm very fond of Duran Duran, the Cranberries, Joan Jett, Billy Idol, that sort of thing if those give you any clue of what I'm into. Haha, but then again, I do give everything a try to see if I like it or not.

I actually do enjoy foreign movies and have no problems looking up films with subtitles, so I'll be sure to check those out, thanks for the suggestions. :D For comics, I'll go through what I read(I read quiiiiite a lot, heh heh) and ask one of my good comic-savvy friends if he has any suggestions and let you know. I hope you slept well, I was dozing off myself. :p

@Jess: Oh wow, do you have pictures of your restored pony? I love to see classic cars rejuvenated, as they're my vehicles of choice. Right now I'm mega into purchasing my neighbor's Mazda Rx7 and giving it a good cleanup. The poor thing's neglected and has so much potential, it really makes me sad to see it just sitting out on their lawn. :( I have a bit of a love for rotary engines and custom work on older pups, since you don't see too many in my area.

And thanks for the welcome, everyone! I'm relieved that I took the chance and joined. :)

When I was very young, Billy Idol was so cool.  I remember that I liked having my hair spiked like his while in the bathtub!  I still like Duran Duran.  BTW, I love late 80s/ early 90s imports.  The RX-7 is one of my favorite cars from that era.

When you're able, let me know your comic book recommends.  Anyway, I'm probably going to jet from this thread.  If you ever want to talk dont hesitate to message me.

Hi Charlie, Welcome!  You sound super fun. I also like comics, writing, art and want to learn more about mechanics.  Have a great time around the boards.  :)
