It has been a while since I've been at HS, but I remember people were pricks.

If you have a close group of friends that know about you and respect you, it is better to stick with them. Telling people in HS whom you don't trust could let them be pricky agains't you.

With this said, if you feel you are ready for rejection, you SHOULD go ahead and tell because you might be surprised!

As someone noted the other day, one person told rarely remains one person...they tell two friends, and then they tell two friends and so on...

So unless you plan to transition at that school, it may be worth keeping things to yourself for the time being...high school can be difficult enough (because I doubt things have changed in the 30 years since my freshman year).

Super late reply, SORRY!

I'm currently in my last year of Highschool. Being the flamboyantly uncaring child I am, I basically told everyone I've ever met/had a conversation with of my true identity.

I'm not being bullied/harrassed/jeered at by anyone in my school despite my sexuality-- aside from a couple of morons who needed a good beating with a metal stool.

Personally, I don't think coming out to your friends in highschool will negatively affect you. I actually made several friends (who are members of the LGBT community) by coming out~

Best of luck t'ya!
