All I know is that one day I woke up and realized, "Hey!  I can skip showering for a couple days and not smell like I rolled around in Satan's feces!  Wohoo!"

And I'm certain my own crotch smells different too.

It's so nice to not be utterly disgusted by your own smell.  I hadn't even realized how distasteful it was until it changed.  I never actually thought to analyze it.  I was just happy that it happened, and treated it as a physical manifestation of my progress.

Three cheers for musty crotch odors!

Me too, ilsa.

I have a whole litany of bodily functions that are more aromatic, but I'm too polite to talk about it. ;) Pink starfruit anyone? Pretty pink starfruit?

O.o  Pink Starfruit?  Sounds like a Kool-aid flavour.

Don't act all coy Ilsa. Over the course of your 30,000 films, we've all seen your starfruit.

;)

Male odor = acrid/acidic

Female odor = musky

I had a comment from someone I'm out to at work about my odor.  She said it has changed and become very female.

I observed a diametric change in genital scent when I began HRT, many a month ago.

I noticed a greater change toward the feminine following the orchi and penectomy.

But when I switched "E" administration modes from oral to injectable, my genital area now has exactly the same scent as a vagina, too.

This was unexpected, but quite satisfying and actually psychologically uplifting.

whoa!  :embarrassed:  try vagisil products.  oh but there's a problem, you gotta have a vagina first. >:D

It would seem that many of the posters here have been wandering the country side smelling female genital area's as a point of comparison.  Hmmm this also begs the question "What do female genitals smell like?".  Of course I'm assuming that we are talking about clean healthy genitals, and I'm assuming that folks are using their fingers to sample these aromas emanating from below.  Of course there are some who are more flexible than others who may in fact be able to bend over and actually take in the sample with their own nose.

This also begs another question...  Does a person now need to smell like a woman to be considered one?  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh the things folks conjure up to validate that they are who they think they are.

Personally I have always considered myself a woman therefore the aromas created by my body must be those of a woman :)

(remembering a former, dysfunctional mode of existence)

Some here know quite well, what female genitals smell like.

Some of us are quite familiar with how they taste, as well.

Supplemental, but unnecessary.

The statement seems gratuitous and...derisive.

But then, I haven't had my morning coffee yet and therefore, I'm not quite sentient.

Ostensibly absurd or inconsequential [to some]
or not, the altered scent constitutes a minor 'validation' and many of us truly need all of the psychological uplifting during an often difficult period in our lives, notwithstanding the absurdity of it, to some.

Such an eloquent reply, carefully crafted and presented, but you apparently failed to see the smiles :)

Oh well, many things in life are supplemental and unnecessary.

Oh! only "seems gratuitous and...derisive."  Aha... Chuck in a couple of spoons of sugar... when you're sentient of course.

The absurdity of this is that on top of all the issues many have with their validation, some would further complicate this issue by throwing one's smell into the pot.  There are far more important issues to worry about than how one's genitals smell.  I would also like to add that depending on the person HRT may or may not cause one's natural sent to be altered so I would advise those who's genitals do not smell like those of a woman's not to worry.

Again you missed my smiles :)  maybe there is a need to adjust your morning coffee routine.

I've been married for over 9 years.  I had many, many opportunities to do this. The original reason this was posted was because it was something I noticed, but did not expect.  It seems to be a subject that hasn't been discussed in regards to pre-ops and I wanted to find out if this was something unique to me or if others experienced it.  My query was answered satisfactorily.

Oops, I've been found out.

Actually I did a doctoral dissertation on just this subject.  I came to the fascinating conclusion that precisely 97.483% of all statistics are just made up.

Reminds me of the Bill Cosby comedy sketch about "farts" - never have truer words been spoken :)

That's a classic, Steph.  I have, however, noticed that my cats have Melissa's problem, especially when I feed them Ocean Whitefish.  That's why I'm doing the environmentally sensitive, save-the-world-from-fish-smell thing.  I've bought them both a plan from this company.

Easy Being Green

QuoteThe Sydney-based Easy Being Green says it will mitigate your cat's flatulent contribution to global warming for 8 Australian dollars, or $6. The same company could also make your granny "carbon-neutral" at 10 dollars a year, according to a report in the Australian newspaper last weekend.

Steph

I do believe that I am beginning to like you, Steph.

(bold)

I would concur with this.

In itself, altered scent is meaningless and not indicative of that which comprises the mind and soul.

If a girl, as a function purely of unique biochemistry [we're all unique], fails to exhibit such altered scent secondary to either androgen suppression or elimination and/or exogenous estrogen administration, this in no way negates nor militates against her femininity or is indicative of the level or intensity of her GID issue.

How could it?

I perceived this general dialog as just informal, light-hearted and conversational.

But you're right; there are far more important things worthy of concern, insofar as transition is concerned.

You should.

It was intended as both a general statement and an implied compliment.

Actually I always wanted to ask that question.  Considering that I have never been with a woman intimately, I am afraid I don't know how female genitals smell like, so if anyone is willing to tell me, I would really appreciate it  ;D.  As far as my "new" genitals, I haven't smelt a thing yet, perhaps because I am constantly douching and spending hours to keep it the way Dr. M. ordered.

Oh no!  Ewwwwww!  :eusa_sick: that's really...really...really....well, I'd better not say it.
