I heard that in order to get the surgery to remove my penis i had to act like a girl for a year, dress as a girl and such. Is that easy? How do you switch clothes? do you buy some shirts and stuff slowly at a time, or do you just throw out your old wardrobe and get new stuff?

I pieced my wardrobe together slowly over time... Luckily, I got allot of stuff free, a few things from my X girlfriend and there is a "Free Table" at my apt.s... That helped quite a bit because there was a lot of trail and error in figuring out my sizes for awhile

I've bought things here and there and have also put some stuff out on the Free table  :)

I'd suggest spreading it over time - partly because it costs a lot of money! - and partly to give yourself time to figure out how you want to look and what you want to wear - and partly because how you want to look and what you want to wear will likely change over time too.

Like V M suggested, there's a lot of stuff you can get for free or nearly so. Check Salvation Army, Goodwill, places like those. I got five pair of name-brand (Lee, Levi, CK) jeans for under twenty bucks at our local Goodwill. Sales are your best friend (I love 3 dollar Wal Mart shirts), and don't be afraid to mix in guys shirts with the rest of your wardrobe (just get ones that fit a little snugger). Remember that any shirt is a girl's shirt when a girl wears it. Someone else on the forum said that not too long ago, and it's very true.
Despite what my profile pictures show, I am a very smiley and upbeat person. I'm merely the least photogenic person alive, that's all :P

I don't like this "dress as a girl" for a year thing so much. Most of the girls I've attempted to date, and especially the ones I'm strictly friends with, dress in similar clothes to my own. The only things that make us noticeably different are hairstyle and physical features.

Not act, but live as a girl. I would recommend visiting tsroadmap.com if you haven't done so already. It's a very helpful site with a ton of information for beginners. I'm sure a lot of your questions will be answered there.
