Hello everyone my name is Michelle, and I am a transvestite.
I started dressing around 10, it all started with that tube of  pantyhose I found, and I have never been able to stop since.
I am in my mid thirties, and starting to wonder if i may be a transsexual. I always thought I was attracted to women, but have found that I am really seeing that dream woman of myself in my attraction to that woman i see. You'll have to give more information, being transsexual isn't about desiring to be a woman you find attractive. It's not a decision that you just decide one day. Transsexuals have an intense desire to live as the opposite sex, and are generally very unhappy presenting as male. The hormones make you grow breasts, they drastically change you mentally, they drop your sex drive drastically, they eventually make you infertile, they might make you more prone to medical problems ciswomen get but I'm not sure. Just advising you. Also this sites not just for transsexuals, there's androgynes, crossdressers, significant others, etc.

Welcome to Susan's a great family here. I understand your feelings and know I have had similar as an older M2F crossdresser. The desire to be Jean never goes away. I got away from dressing about 6 years ago for a couple of year but was missing something. Well, I started again and can't get enough time to be Jean. Just go with your feeling and ask questions here as it is a great place to gain information.

Some cross-dressers are transsexuals. 

Every combination exists.  Many cross-dressers enjoy female clothing and have absolutely no desire to take female hormones and remove their beards.

Move among different areas of site.  I think cross-dressers prefer to be called cross-dressers.

However you identify is cool. I'm still figuring myself out. (edit: TG or FTM? Can I be FTM if I can't operate? And does it matter?)

It interests me that you mention being attracted to women you'd like to be. I dated men with characteristics I wanted for myself, because if I couldn't be them, I could have them. I think it makes psychological sense, since they are both "assimilation".

That was one thing that forced me to re-evaluate myself, and together with a lot of other things, come to name these feelings as "transgendered".

The moment I knew for sure was when I got into a pitch black lift and closed my eyes. I was completely separate from society and my own prejudices. It is true. I am male.

But I just live each day as it comes, identifying however I identify at that moment. It's usually consistent, but I'm okay with surprising myself. I played with my soft toys today. It was awesome. And, uh, masculine! Yeah! They battled! One of their heads fell off! Oh, who am I kidding. I helped them with their maths homework.

Thanks to all for the welcomes to my introduction. To explain a little clearer the feelings i described of seeing women and seeing myself as that woman. I have found that many crossdressers see women as their fantasy woman, the fantasy woman is the crossdresser themselves in that woman they see. I feel I may be a transsexual because as a man I am not attracted to men, but as a woman having sex with a man is something i fantasize about. I love being feminite, wearing skirts, high heels, and pantyhose, and would love a man to have sex with me as  a woman.

Actually have know a couple of genetic males that did not like gay sex but wanted to be "girlfriend" and did not consider themselves "gay".

If you had a vajayjay would you want to be with a girl or dude?  Know many that went each direction. Scary question.
