Mr.Rainey

Fall Q starts this week.

How do I word a note to my teachers asking them to use my male name and pronouns?

When I shot my teachers an email, I just tried to sound as professional as possible and be official. Show that you know what's going on, and what you want done. Don't beat around the bush, and be assertive! This is an example of what I used for this semester:
QuoteDear Mr. (teacher),
This is (legal name), and I'm just asking for you to call me by male pronouns and by the male name (preferred name) instead of (legal name). Reason being is due to me being transgender, and I currently do not have legal documentation of said name change, it will hopefully be happening in the near future. I have been to a couple therapists and have a psychiatrist, so this is a thoroughly thought out. So please do call me (preferred name) and use male pronouns. Thank you very much and have a nice day!

Sincerely,
blahblahblah

Last year I had used something similar, but my history teacher had told me that I needed legal documents in able to not confusion with legal documents, thus why I said I don't have legal documentation of my name change. I wish you the best of luck man!

Tell teachers this is your name and you are a male.

Ask them to cross out rooster and insert your male name and thank them for their understanding.

Some are nice and others are stupid and need to be politely educated by you.

this is pretty much the exact one i wrote to my teachers.

Dear _______,
I am a student in your period___ class. I am a transgender student. My name on your class roster is ______ ______ and my gender is listed as female. However I would prefer being called Parker ______, and would appreciate it if you would refer to me using male pronouns. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at any time. I will respond as quickly as posible.

i really doubt they will refuse you if you are polite but firm about it.

I sent an email before my name change, and before T to my sexuality teacher (because I knew he would understand)

I said something like..

"Hello Professor.  I am going to be in your __ class this coming semester and I just wanted you to know that I am a female to male transsexual, and although my name has not yet been legally changed, I would like to go by Elijah.  I would also like to be referred to with male pronouns, I just want to be treated like any other guy in your class, thank you and see you in class."

He was awesome about it always calling me Mr. (last name)  (even though I didnt pass)and he paired me up with all guys for a project we had to do.

Another option would be to speak to your principal (if it's a high school) and have them inform the teachers for you. If your parents are supportive having them present might help as well in persuading the principal.

When registering for my new school I told the counsellor I was trans (he's the one you have to talk to for registration) and he said he would put my preferred name on my office folder and all the class lists. So the only one who knows I'm trans is him and I'm completely stealth to all teachers and students.... it's awesome.

Anyway. You could try that route if you feel awkward about confronting teachers individually.
