"This initiative is born to bring back a little justice in a country where there are people without any kind of defence against the daily insults and attacks of a nasty and hypocritical political class. Outing ( a term used often incorrectly by italian journalists who are often ignorant and lazy) is a tough but just/fair political means. It consists of: declaring publicly the practicing homosexuality or other different sexuality of politicians (both single, married or living together), priests, well known and influential figures, who through their well documented actions and declared positions on issues have offended and discriminated against Gay, Lesbian and Trans people.

The first list that we will publish, to be followed by others in the coming months and years, is comprised of 10 politicians. We have in our possession the names of 10 priests high up in the church, the names of others in show business and in TV. We have decided to start with these first ten names to make it understood how in the Italian Parliament hypocrisy and discrimination rule the day. The politicians of who we know the sexual identity are many more, but for the moment we will limit ourselves to publishing a small extract comprised of those who voted against the law that would have criminalised homophobia.

From now on whenever the LGBT community suffers attacks from the Catholic hierarchy or from the political world or from the news media we will reserve our right to respond in adequate measure."

Can't wait to see what happens here although being Italy it will probably be 'plus ça change'.
