Hey guys i just wanned to ask how do u keep your packer clean iv notice little black fluff sticking to it. i clean it of with baby wipes every day in the morning and night before and after use. well for some reson the base of it gets sticky when u wet it. any tips on keeping it clean

just wash it with soap and water.
Dust it with corn starch after it has dried off and it won't be sticky anymore.

corn starch? would tacking powder work?

yeah, i use flour.

apparently corn starch is the best but flour works fine, so talc should too.

I use Dick Dust from Whizpacker.com  Works like a charm I think and it's a little different than just corn starch I think, but it works fantastic.

I wash it with soap and water then dust it with cornstarch.

From what I have read, talcum powder is not good to use because it is associated with certain cancers of the reproductive organs. Stick with corn starch.

It's better to play it safe.

what is cornstarch never hard of it..LOL i dunnoif u can get it in the UK

I wash mine with water (never tried soap) to get all the visible sh*t off... varying temp from hot-cold, then drying and dusting with corn starch.

It's like what they use to make Corn Dogs and stuff. Kinda like a corn flour. Just go to your local market/grocery store, look where the flour would be and you should see it. Or maybe ask a Clerk? It's cheap, too. Or should be.

Other than cornstarch, you could get some baby powder, aka talcum powder--- pretty cheap and does the job. I believe it's pretty easy to get it unscented as well.

I just looked it up and apparently corn starch in the UK is called "cornflour".

Definitely this.  100% corn starch is best and you can get a big box for cheep at any grocery store.

I got some corn flour witch is the same thing but in uk diff name anyways i brought some of that today i also cleaned out a old garlic pot with the sprinkle holes in it i cleaned it right out and what i was going to do was put the cornflour in there might be easier

I just take a plastic sandwich bag that's big enough to hold my packer, throw enough cornstarch in there to dust the whole surface (not much, relatively-speaking), then close the bag and shake it around. Then I pull out the packer carefully and pat the extra powder off with a towel. Keeps a mess from happening and you can save the excess corn starch in the bag for next time.
