Since I was on the student government body my senior year in high school, I have the daunting task of helping with the layout, planning, and structure of our 20th High School Reunion.
First of all, I cannot believe it's been 20 years since my high school graduation. Secondly, this is just one of countless scenarios to tell you that one cannot be 100% stealth!
When we first set up the planning committee (we are doing it all through Facebook), I had to convince them that I was their School Vice President. No easy task to say the least.
When you do convince them then you listen and answer countless of questions they ask. Now, i have no issues with anyone asking me questions. In my opinion, the more people know about transgender the better when it comes to education.
Some on the planning committee already knew I am a girl...my ex girlfriend was the treasurer and she has known for quite some time. You could just see the grin she had when people were asking "Who are you?
"
But so far the planning is going along great. We are shooting for May 2012 and we are sinking quite a bit of money into this. I think it's going to be an awesome time. We made the decision not to disclose what happened too their vice president but I am a realist. People are going to ask why is there an Annah at our Reunion and not a Rob? I can almost guarantee the cat will be out of the bag.
Does it bother me? No. Not really. If anything, i may get a bigger laugh seeing the expressions on their faces. Soccer player, Lacrosse Player, Band Drum Major, Voted Best Dressed is now a Divinity Student female with a gorgeous boyfriend and sporting the opposite genitalia than when they last saw me.
I think it's gonna be a hoot!
